ask them about their program for job experiance. I forget what its called but they give you a higher rank if you go into an mos similar to what you do now. its not bs either its in writing. I made sure to research at the time I did it, because I didn't wanna be another sucker and get locked into an mos without the contract I was offered.

If you go green to gold the army pays for school and you become an officer when you are done if you decide you want to be a lifer.

I don't have my associates yet. Don't you need it to go green to gold?

No you earn it while you are going green to gold. That is the point of it.

I think that going guard is right for me right now and when I'm done with my AA if I want to get my associates I'll just keep truckin.

I believe the green to gold allows you to return to collge immediately after boot camp. so I think that's the best option for you.

I have to score a 110 I think on the ASVAB to even qualify for green to gold... I guess I'll study and see what I can do. If It's a option that might be a good idea.

AFAIK the overall score only matters for certain insentives, i.e. GI Bill kicker where as the score that really matters as to what MOSs you are elgible for is your GT score.

Keep in mind this is may not be accurate anymore, just what I remember from when I joined 9 1/2 years ago. If you can get a GT score of 110 then I believe you are capable of doing anything the military has to offer, provided you pass all other requirements (flight physical, psyc evail and all that)

The ASVAB is easy, nothing worry about. I didn't study and I passed just fine. The GT score is very important. You need at least a 110 to get into a lot things.

I took it way back in high school, it's cake compared to the SAT or other college placement exams. Recruiters would not leave me the f alone for three years I took it.

                              Funny.

I get college grads in my office all the time that want to be Officers. Somehow, they scored well enough on thier SATs to get into Cal States, Cal Polys, UCs, etc, but cant seem to cut the ASVAB scores required to into the Military, let alone be Officers!

Just a bit of information for you, the recruiters werent calling you because you did well on the ASVAB, they were calling you because they had your number.
