    ASVAB studying.

Are there any good guides to studying for the ASVAB? I would like to study hard and do well on it.

I took the full length last night and in my word comprehension I got 94 % and paragraph comprehension I got 90% my math I got 70% and science I got 50% and can't remember the other ones but they were pretty low. I need to brush up on math and the electronic and mechanical ones. I'm confident in my reading and comprehension though and it has been years since I took a science class.

I meant it. I thought is was pretty easy but it might have changed in the last 11 years since I have taken it.

there's an asvab practive book at most local book stores. I studied it before my asvab and scored in the 90's. this was on the army's test as I was told at the facility, years ago, they score differently for other branchs, dunno how true that is though. good luck.

How do they score it and is there somewhere that shows you how much you need to score for certain MOS's? Oh and thanks PCH I thought it was sarcasm for a minute!

Ask your recruiter for a break down chart for scores that shows which MOS you choose join.

As far as Nationa Guard recruiting goes do I see a National Guard recruiter or Army? Do they have guard recruiters?

your recruiter would know which sections of the test are used to score certain mos. they will give you a practice test at their office to see how you fair. they will then be able to tell you what you need to study in. the tests are pretty much common sense questions. as long as you score atleast 70 in the categories you are weak on you should be good. heck the guy that tested with me got 50's on his scores and they said he did GREAT!

Yes they have separate recruiting offices. They are separate branches but are trained at the same locations.

what yote said. sometimes if they don't think they can offer you what you need or want they will refer you to the big army, especially if you score high yet have a waiver they can't work with but the army can or vice versa.

Just go Regular army for a 2 year contract and if you dont like it as long as you dont get stop lossed you can get out and go guard. Might as well get paid more to do the same job.
