Thanks, I hope he does also. I made the cut off for 6 in 5 years, 11 months, so the gauntlet has been thrown.

Does he know that the stripe on the dress blue uniform is $80 to have it sewn on, or just $90 for a pair with them already.

As Intel, he's going to pass you for SSG in no time.
Well, he's making like 5 times what I made back in the day, so he can afford it. I hope he makes his 6.

Very cool, I picked up my E5 while in Iraq, effective date was Oct 2006 but didn't get pinned on until March of 2007. Got back on base after being at another base for two weeks with two other dudes learning how to use the CROWs and we were at the fuel point when someone came over the radio telling us to stop and get to the chapel ASAP. walked into the chapel with all my kit still on and my PSG walked up to me and asked who I wanted to pin me. I had no idea I was getting promoted, so I just kind of blanked and said him (would have preferred one or two other guys who were present but oh well).

What topped it off was having my Squad Leader telling me the next day that I was a piece of sh*t and he fought against me getting promoted. Spent the next week as his gunner getting yelled at and put down for 8 hours every day. Almost fragged him and the driver, got moved to another squad and everything was great, minus the whole mortars and rockets and IEDs lol
