    I know right! They eyef*ck you and proclaim to know every size of your body and hand you the **** like "not my problem", if you have one. I get that they have experience sizing people but damn. Plenty of pink dyed boots from the 12 mile. Getting my first non-USGI boots (Nike SFB) made my old ones feel like a rock.

      We were issued the black "zig-zag" sole leather personnel carriers at Ft. Leonard Wood in 1974. The "boots" absolutely sucked; no comfort, no moisture protection, and were a pita to spit shine.
      Bought a pair of Corcorans even though I was a leg Engineer. IIRC, they were $27 at the PX. Twice the cost of issue boots at the clothing sales store, a whole lot more comfortable to march in, and did take a great shine. But they too sucked as field boots.
