Request: someone plz start a thread to monitor progress of anti AWB federal lawsuits

The title pretty much says it all.

I started a thread where I monitor federal civil pro Concealed Carry lawsuits and update the OP as they progress at:

I also started one re. Open Carry lawsuits, but haven't really kept up on that one.

I'm hoping someone here who's as focused on so-called "assault weapons" as I am on Shall Issue CCWs will start a similar thread to keep the rest of us up to date w/anti Assault Weapons Ban federal lawsuits (and maybe CA state anti AWB lawsuits too).

Feel free to use my CC thread as a pattern so we can see what lawsuits are in what circuits and in which circuits we have won or lost battles, and when SCOTUS has denied cert. to such cases.

Here's a recent thread I made about such a case:

The bottom of the OP in my CC thread has info on a couple of other AWB cases too (Haynie and Heller II).

I'm not up to date on a lot of the federal-level suits except that all the ones in the Northeast have been losses so far, so I'm not the one who should start a thread. But there are state-level suits against AWBs going on in Illinois right now:

    Wilson v. Cook County

Status update from earlier today: Judge will soon assign the trial date or make a determination for ruling on joint summary judgment motions. The Illinois Supreme Court has kicked this one back down twice to lower courts and an injunction has been issued against enforcement (which is the reason several stores in Cook County sell modern sporting rifles). To date, no known arrests and/or convictions have resulted from the Cook County ordinance since its passage in 2006.

    Friedman v. Highland Park

Status: in response phase. Lots of tit for tat.
