Amended complaint shows depth of problems at the NRA

This showed up today on arf around 0630 mdt...advised OK to cross post.

I've had myself, wife, and sons all set up as life members, and we have continued to contribute yearly for the NRA's activities in California. Once I read that, I realized that the money needs to and will stop immediately. What's happening via WLP and a complete lack of financial controls within the organization is astounding and far worse than I originally supposed, to put it mildly...grab a drink or several and read on...

The Attorney General has filed an amended complaint, 187 pages long. The original complaint was brutal, this is beyond that. Staff and some directors are looting the corporation for millions or ten…

It's worthwhile, but about a 10 minute read...
True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.

Not surprising. We've known for a few years now that the leadership at the NRA was corrupt garbage. As far as I'm concerned, they are an enemy of the 2A and should be allowed to die out unless they do some major reform, including getting rid of all leadership and board members, and maybe for once actually doing something pro gun instead of helping the enemy write new gun control. Unfortunately you still have a bunch of people who either don't know, or have their head in the sand, and will keep throwing money Wayne's way.

Who in their right mind would believe ANYTHING coming from Leticia James!
This Soros dunce called the NRA a terrorist organization !

It takes a special kind of stupid to believe or even post such mindless drivel. This is a Stalin show trial!
"Show me the man I will show you the crime".

Considering this same antigun democrat hack said she would take down the NRA as an election promise and has now moved on to President Trump. That should be all a principled gun owner should need to reject EVERYTHING from this New York puke.

I know some democrats and easily led keyboard commandos, will take everything she charges as gospel. The former are just evil, the later plain brainless slobs!

Hanko, with all due respect, these are allegations yet to be proven and all aimed at dissolving the NRA in order to more easily promote and pass their anti-gun agenda. Remember the Russian collusion? It certainly diverted from what could have been an even more successful presidency.

Hmmm ... seems like we need pictures of LaPierre's niece

"LaPierre yacht trips and Bahamas vacations. Private jet trips there eight times, on most trips after picking up his niece in Nebraska"

"$1,340 per night hotel rooms for LaPierre’s niece"

Google turned up nothing on his “niece”.

OP anyone paying attention for the last several years knows (or is in complete denial) that WLP has been using the NRA as his personal slush fund to finance his high end lifestyle.

From the suits, vacations, luxury hotel rooms, Texas estate etc it is obvious this guy is a narcissistic self centered ego maniac. That cares more for maintaining his lifestyle than providing transparency to the membership.

People have been calling for a new face of the NRA for years due the cult of personality that WLP has built around himself but he refuses to give up such a sweet gig (I mean can you blame him)? Where else is he going to be able to live that extravagantly with no one ever being able to question his expenditures?

Not sure if some of the people here just didn't see the documents that came out a couple years ago or if they're just in denial, but many of the allegations against the NRA are far from unfounded. There were IRS documents proving a lot of this spending, showing that the NRA was basically used as WLP's personal piggy bank, not to mention several people from within the NRA making claims as well(shortly before being forced out of said NRA).

I read the "About Us" section of the website -

"We are a group of NRA members, all life or above, who are concerned about where our organization is being taken"

It seems to me appropriate, rather than taking them at their word, that we require of them the same sort of transparency they ask of NRA. To stand up and tell us who they are, by name. That would be for me a starting point.

To be fair, I would expect them to also publish NRA response to the NY AG pleading.

Whatever change should take place at NRA should come from its members. I suppose that's us. And despite the assessment by non-members (which will be most who respond) that suppose we're either ignorant or unwilling, there are other ways to process and address. E-mails and letters, phone calls advising of dissatisfaction, a reduction of additional donations or expressing that as an option. When I get an "NRA Giveaway" letter - usually asking for a donation and showing guns I can't get in CA - I call to b*tch and moan, or "register a negative response" as they may take it.

Given sufficient guidance from within should, I'd hope and expect, have an effect.

WLP has been and is still a hero!
Taking on all ANTIGUN forces and sending them packing with facts logic and simple but true statements that resonate effectively.

Whats more taking us to 5 million members is a great accomplishment in itself.
WLP could have and would make lots more money, doing jobs that appeal to an adolescent mind.
In fact the Dallas football coach gets paid 4X more (4 million) than what WLP salary is.
AS many of us realize, pro sports cost the taxpayers plenty with stadiums, etc.
The cost is even higher when you think of the drunken slobs who watch and follow these mindless games where simpletons cripple players to cause fumbles, and where ungrateful players kneel and disrespect our Flag and Free nation.

NRA members are affluent and expect our representative to be fairly compensated and wear clothing suitable for a man of his stature. Sorry the uniform of short pants, sneakers, wife beater and backwards ball cap doesn't convey the image I want for our organization.

Many people know that to obtain quality effective leadership it costs money.
90% of WLP hatred is coming from antigunners and the other 10%, from those who are jealous, envious and resentful.

The big media and New York sleazeballs played them perfectly by showing WLP with a beautiful woman, nice clothes and a salary far in excess of the piddly amount someone pays them. Many of these envious, jealous, resentful people have nearly nothing material and even less character.

While we gun culture people never judge people by their wealth or possessions, we do judge them for a lack character and childish resentments.
At any shooting range you find 30 year old Toyotas, new Cadillacs, Lincolns, Audis Mustangs, Mercedes,Range Rover, etc
The true gun culture person enjoys the fact some shooters are really affluent. I enjoy talking with these people, as I enjoy the shooter with the older truck or car.

Our love of guns, gun culture and liberty is what makes us the elite of all sportsman.

Lol, I'm just gonna leave this thread alone, there's some weird obsession with this criminal garbage known as WLP here. The dude doesn't care about your rights, or guns for that matter, he's in it for the money and that's it. That's all the NRA leadership cares about. But hey, if someone wants to keep their head in the sand and tickle his pickle while filling his pockets, it's their money. And for the record, comparing a professional athlete's salary to that of an alleged non-profit's president is nonsensical. I'd do Wayne's job for 1/50th of what he makes and I wouldn't sell out to the enemy doing it either.

Very many NRA members are not affluent... the majority are probably not. I know non that I know are, and in fact, I am not sure I even know any affluent people. Your attitude is an example of why the NRA is going to die. Firearms right's are not for the upper crust, they are not for the people you like being around, they are not for "gun culture persons". They are for the American, and by this I mean everyone who is protected under the Constitution.

Almost everyone I have met who dislikes the NRA, and doesn't dislike them based on leftism, dislikes them based on their inaction in the face of small tyranny and Californian gun grabbing, and morons like you.

The image you want for the NRA is wealthy, censored, and a yes man for you. An asskisser.
