I think you are right. This will become another political game with the D's shooting down FixNICS because of reciprocity. Then the R's will gloat that they "tried" doing something. In the end, it will be same as usual.

I say yes: Schumer will block any attempt to get it to a floor vote, even if he has to sacrifice FixNICS.

And unfortunately they will listen as more and more remember her saying... I told you so. How long before the Donald gives in? I don't trust any of them at the top. Stockton elementary massacre started the whole push.

There's no "probably" about it; she's on the record saying "If I had the votes in the Senate, to say 'Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in' I would have done it. The votes weren't there"

What are the odds of finding 9 Democrats to cross the aisle and support cloture on this bill after the Florida slaughter yesterday? Schumer will not allow anyone to vote in favor of this bill now unless their re-election in the fall depends on it.

That ought to scare the crap out of Mitch Mr. Rogers. He will bury this to avoid any controversy.

IMO, even Trump's behavior or popularity may factor into what the Senate does or doesn't do. I've still got another 6.25 years on my FL CCW, so I'm good regardless. Won't have to apply with the rush should it pass this year or next (assuming antis don't gain ground in the Nov election).

Here's your video embedded. Notice how he predicts the vote won't be until Oct, the month before the elections....

REALLY hope there is a reliable source behind his prediction and they're going to force some hands before the 2018 Senate Election. The combination of attaching HR38 to fix-NICS to usher dem support and then bringing it to a vote right before the election would be a brilliant move if that's what gets the bill through the Senate.

This article already has it wrong in the first sentence, HR 38 says a State.

The House has passed a bill that would allow Americans licensed to carry concealed firearms in their own states to bring those weapons legally into other states.
Also, I notice they fixed the summary since I looked last.

Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017

This bill amends the federal criminal code to allow a qualified individual to carry a concealed handgun into or possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms.

A qualified individual must: (1) be eligible to possess, transport, or receive a firearm under federal law; (2) carry a valid photo identification document; and (3) carry a valid concealed carry permit issued by any state or be eligible to carry a concealed firearm in his or her state of residence.

Additionally, the bill specifies that a qualified individual who lawfully carries or possesses a concealed handgun in another state: (1) is not subject to the federal prohibition on possessing a firearm in a school zone, and (2) may carry or possess the concealed handgun in federally owned lands that are open to the public.
