So here is the question: is national reciprocity dead for 2018?
I say yes: Schumer will block any attempt to get it to a floor vote, even if he has to sacrifice FixNICS.Leave a comment:

She doesn't need to. She approves of LA's and SF's restrictive policies, and probably thinks the whole state should be like that. Remember, she is in favor of AR bans (in fact sponsored the Clinton Bill) and probably a total firearms ban.Leave a comment:

What are the odds of finding 9 Democrats to cross the aisle and support cloture on this bill after the Florida slaughter yesterday? Schumer will not allow anyone to vote in favor of this bill now unless their re-election in the fall depends on it.Leave a comment:

She completely fails to mention that there is a defacto ban in many counties.Leave a comment:

Feinswine finally replied, not at all surprised at her response
What is good for Alaska or Wyoming may not be good for California or New York.

Thanks. See the article linked in my post #228 above for what I think. tl;dr there are a lot of "moving pieces", so it is difficult to predict what will happen to nat'l recip this year. IMO, even Trump's behavior or popularity may factor into what the Senate does or doesn't do. I've still got another 6.25 years on my FL CCW, so I'm good regardless. Won't have to apply with the rush should it pass this year or next (assuming antis don't gain ground in the Nov election).
Here's your video embedded. Notice how he predicts the vote won't be until Oct, the month before the elections....

The House has passed a bill that would allow Americans licensed to carry concealed firearms in their own states to bring those weapons legally into other states.
Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017
This bill amends the federal criminal code to allow a qualified individual to carry a concealed handgun into or possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms.
A qualified individual must: (1) be eligible to possess, transport, or receive a firearm under federal law; (2) carry a valid photo identification document; and (3) carry a valid concealed carry permit issued by any state or be eligible to carry a concealed firearm in his or her state of residence.
Additionally, the bill specifies that a qualified individual who lawfully carries or possesses a concealed handgun in another state: (1) is not subject to the federal prohibition on possessing a firearm in a school zone, and (2) may carry or possess the concealed handgun in federally owned lands that are open to the public.Leave a comment:
