I'm looking forward to see what becomes of this

I don't expect anything like punishment to fit the crime, but will be interested to see what things have to be disclosed during all the proceedings.

More on this story from our friends at PJ
                https://pjmedia.com/trending/2016/09...n-documentary/

We were horrified to see how Couric and her team manipulated us and the video footage to make us look like fools who didn’t stand up for the Second Amendment,” said Philip Van Cleave, the group’s president. “We want to set the record straight and hold them accountable for what they’ve done. You shouldn’t intentionally misrepresent someone’s views just because you disagree with them.”

If I were a juror,I would triple the award to 36 million.

The lesson is obvious: never ever assent to a Media interview without having a third party tape the proceedings - just in case "they" decide to pull a Couric.

                      The issue revolves around this portion;
“If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?” Couric asked the activists.

The activists immediately responded with answers, however the film inserted nine seconds of silent b-roll of the activists blankly staring at their surroundings.

is anyone surprised the anti gun media would resort to altering facts?

I'm glad that they're standing up for themselves, but I really don't expect a Federal judge to side with the plaintiffs.

However, at least with the media exposure, more people will see the footage and editing and be able to make up their own minds. Plus, the responses from the gun rights advocates were good, so it's something that the public should hear.

I agree with you, this is a complete manipulation.

Ironically, the media you remind us tells only lies (that liberal media like NPR, CNN etc) are all deriding Couric for being manipulative so I don't know who to believe Are you ready to say NPR got it right?

None the less, I predict Couric herself won't pay a dime. The director and production company will be on the hook. I doubt there will even be a formal retraction by Couric of the whole thing.

I honestly dont know if NPR,CNN,ETC,got it right, because it NEVER gets viewed. Sort of like if I were alive during WW2.Tokyo Rose would not have had any credibilty or relevance. On second thought, she was probably as informative as these gun grabbing democrats pretending to be reporters! Regardless life is better w/o their influence.

I agree with you regarding Couric and seriously doubt anyone will pay anything.
Recall when NBC altered the Zimmerman 911 call? They directly made him appear racist and damaged his character.
Zimmerman sued and the court ruled NBC made a mistake without malice .
Last week, NBC News became truthful, at least partially, when it issued an apology about altering a taped 911 conversation between George Zimmerman and a police dispatcher in the high-profile Trayvon Martin story, a case being linked to racism and profiling. What viewers of NBC's "Today" show heard was this…

Unrelated, but Donald Trump captured my vote when he called that reporter a sleaze !

As the late Dr Grady used to say " Remember the person who wants to register, restrict or consficate your firearm,is your enemy"... RIP Dr Grady

Yet Tokyo Rose did have an impact on Moral, albeit only slight. She was also tried an convicted after the war, but later pardoned by President Gerald Ford.

If nothing else the VCDLs law suit will cause some examination or Couric and her cohorts as well as their tactics. You can't "unring" the bell, but you can try and hold the bell ringer accountable for their actions.
