JMO, but I think she's seen an opportunity to swing back towards the middle on the 2A in order to capture some who may not be thrilled with Trump.

This is Clinton-speak. The prez can't overturn a SCOTUS ruling, she knows that, so yes she wouldn't attempt to overturn it.
But, I'm sure the judges she appoints would be in line with someone like a Judge Henderson from the DC Circuit, who's shown utter contempt through all her rulings which reject any meaningful 2A.
