    Good Timing, Mr. Lott...

Several gun control groups either didn’t respond to messages or were too
busy with the Democratic convention in Philadelphia this week to be able
to -review- Lie about Mr. Lott’s findings.
Had to make correction to the quote...

Well, I guess Violent Crime and Murders must be at an All Time High, if you
listen to the Anti Gun Minions who equate More Guns = More Crime.

    Reality:

Research on concealed carry of firearms in relationship to crime and self-defense. Includes data on violent crimes, interaction with police, permit revocation rates, mass public shootings, and more.

The original quote from the article made a reference
And those who actually carry is likely much higher because nearly a dozen states don’t even require a permit to do so, he said.
, but by definition, nobody knows.

I spent an hour talking with the IA CCW point man after he handed me my license. Our small county is working 200 open applications and he mentioned some of the numbers in the larger issuing counties: pretty staggering.

The irony for me is - my OC CCW expires one month after I move to a state that doesn't require a permit... So on paper I'm a negative (since there's no renewal) but in practice I'll still be carrying.

I'll eventually get a permit anyway (in AZ) primarily for reciprocity - but also to keep the numbers up

This is great news, but I'm guessing it doesn't factor in the people who have multiple permits - for example, I have 3. Or maybe that's not common enough to be statistically relevant. Also, as pointed out above, it doesn't consider the people who are legally carrying without a permit, but obviously there's no way to know how many of those people there are.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Conversely, this might also be considered a bad thing. CCW used to be so uncommon, that it was never really something the anti's wasted their time with. Suddenly when 1 in 10 adults has one, it becomes a much bigger concern to them. If I am remembering things correctly, CCW was never really under serious attack until the last few years, which is either the cause of, or the result of, increased CCW numbers - I'm not sure which.

One big media case showing a CCW person doing a criminal act will become the newest clarion call for the anti's.

my OC permit expires next month. However being on active duty here in Texas I have not been able to renew. So I get to do the whole process over again. YIPPIE for me.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

This story just reinforces how great the divide is growing between various states when it comes to gun control laws. Some states are even more free than before, while a dirty dozen states are getting more restrictive.

It could be a lot worse, you could live in Los Angeles County where we don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting a CCW. Count your blessings.
