A friend has this puchased around 1994 is it legal to own and shoot in ca with factrory 100 round box magazine it came with? No I think answers please. Someone with facts please answer.

The .22 LR Calico M100 rifle would be legal. As a rimfire rifle it is not an "Assault Weapon" as defined in the CA Penal Code. The magazine is legal because it was owned in CA prior to 1 Jan 2000.
The Calico M100 in pistol would be an assault weapon, due to the magazine not being in the handgrip.

He brought it out to club with the kids and I allowed it once. For a yuppie to play with fine but kids do not need to learn to shoot with shoot and pray firearms with 100 round mags. I lent them single shot and bolt action 22s with 10 round mags and single action 22 handguns.Comment
