How many firearm sales per year am I limited to?

How many firearms can I sell per year? I typically see "5 total PPTs" as the answer, but I've also seen posts saying "5 handguns per year, no limit on long guns as long as it's irregular and not meant as a business"

Is there a California law or DOJ post somewhere that is crystal clear on what the actual number is? Thanks.

5 PPTs, regardless if long gun or handgun IIRC, up to 50 total (can be multiple per PPT).

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I wonder about the finer nuances..............

For instance, do out of state transfers (selling from CA to out of CA) count?

My gut tells me it wouldn't as the transfer paperwork would be taking place on the out of state side.

I mean........... how do some of us sell all of our guns in a short period of time.

There comes that time in our lives (if we are responsible) we as old men should divest them the best we can for our heirs if they don't want to take them on, and all they do is collet dust and rust in our old hands.

Trying not to start another thread..

So 10 is the limit per PTT? Is it the same for family transfer, father to son ?

That's PPT, and no and no.

The 50-per-year could be all one transaction. Intrafamilial does count as a transfer in this context.

PPT has a two fold limit - you can sell up to 50 firearms in no more than 5 transactions. Once one of those numbers are met, you're done selling.

As for the Intrafamilar transfers. It can be considered the same way, by some. Because you can transfer as many firearms for one $19 fee, I recommend that you transfer as many as possible. Just so you don't give the state anymore money than you have to.

There are some that thinks it may. Personally I don't.

I'm trying to limit myself to 4 per year total.

3 Family transfer from my out of state son.

It's a good thing to have immediate family out of state.

That sounds like guns coming in to you; the limit is on SALES or transfers away from you. The theory is, this prevents one from making a living as a dealer without a license.

They should just up the limit to like 7 or 8 PPT's per year and that would still be rather fair compared to the measly 5 that they only allow us currently.
