Can anyone here who has done the form say if they requested pictures of your items on the form?

Also, if i build a Pistol AR normally but in a legal maglocked fasion before moving to california how then would i check the boxes for it on the form? Handgun > Semi-auto or Handgun > Other_______

In most states the 4473 and the manufacturer's records are the only records. They will say long gun or handgun, but it would likely take a criminal investigation to get the records, as they are not sent to any government agency. If you wanted to prove they are handguns, you could ask for a copy of one of those.
