No one knows, but as long as you respond to each kick back within 30 days, your application is still ongoing. The only problem is that you can't use the rifle in the meantime.

One would rightly assume at least once per data entry on the form, if they notify you of an inadequate or incorrect entry you have 30 days to fix that entry. They could notify of several things at once, cutting down that number. How many times you can incorrectly enter the same piece of data and get multiple kickbacks over that same issue... who knows... but they would have a viable argument to cancel/deny the application at 30 days from the first! Get things right.

Looks like CFARS has been updated to current version 2.0.0.0 recently. Ive been watching the small print on the upper right corner of the CFARS webpage, and it was still version 1.2.0.0.0 -or close to that -up until after registration deadline..

                God bless their Geek Squad!

My featureless 80% builds got kicked back for not having a caliber listed. They are marked cal-multi. There is a provision for multi in the AW registration. Does it also apply to featureless?

If they ask for more pictures then they are asking us to assemble and document a illegally configured rifle.

Also if they do a knock and check or heaven forbid a warrant search and everything is disassembled then I assume they cannot hit you with any felonies as nothing is operational per 11 CFR 5471 (hh).

You'd never know. They may not notice it or they may.

I'd click "Submit An Issue" and ask if you can revise the submission. Think of a good reason to revise it, ideally without stating the overall length issue. I believe if you ask to reopen the application for anything, you would have the chance of updating your pics. Maybe you had remeasured the barrel length and realized it is not 16" but 16.25",or, maybe the caliber should have been 5.56 and not .223

OTOH, there was a post above where lately the DOJ seems to be much more forgiving and was actually giving the registrant instructions to correct his errors without the "knock and confiscate" approach of the old days.

However there was a grace period that ended June 30th 2018.

I'm personally interpreting the grace period as being extended for registrants who have not received their letters (most of them) until such time as the letter is received or the application is rejected (formally, via letter). People can read it whatever way they want but that's my take.
