So this is probably going to get my application rejected for more info?

We don't know, at least you tried your best to be in compliant.

Sorry, last question... (maybe) so if rejected, will I be allowed to answer and still register?

              AK from a kit

I've got a friend who assembled an AK from a kit. There's no markings on the receiver but has matching serials on the dust cover, front trunion and bolt group. Both the AW Reg Form and Firearms Ownership Report Form (CFARS) require 'Make' and 'Model'. Just pick any Make/Model? Add additional pics of serials? Which CFARS Form?

Convert to featuresless is another option.

wowzers! My head is going to explode!

Sorry about the dumb questions I'm about to ask. But WTF!? I haven't been keeping up to date with all this RAW stuff. I had a baby 3 years ago and frankly have had NO time for any shooting related things. I probably won't until he gets older either.

I just took a look at this thread and it SEEMS straight forward to reg my AR as a RAW (apparently I need to remove the forward grip?! Is this illegal now?! WTF!?)

I also have a CZ Scorpion with a "bullet button" of sorts on it. (it's a nightmare looking thing!). I assume I need to register this as well? Any tips on how to register this thing?

This is a WTF situation. I thought I was done after doing the background check and purchasing my rifles. But now CA wants people to jump thru more hoops. I bet there are going to be people out there that have NO idea about this (like me until a buddy asked me about it!) and will get in trouble for this. This is big time BS. Not quite sure what registering as a AW will do to the criminals.

Sorry, just a bit frustrated and running out of time here...

Why do you perceive a need to remove the forward grip?

It sounds like he assembled the rifle from an 80% receiver if it has no markings whatsoever. Follow the threads on marking an 80%.

Now I'm curious, though. When he riveted the front trunnion to the blank receiver, he essentially marked a serial number on it, no? He may still have to engrave his name, city and state on the receiver.

On my factory built AKs, the serial number on the front trunnion is what the FFL used for DROS. Yet, on my kit builds on a 100% receiver, the legal serial is what's already on the receiver.

June 17, 2018: Registered a gaggle of rifles. All pretty vanilla.
June 19, 2018: Got emails the next day for all but 2.
June 20, 2018: Checked the site and they wanted a change to the caliber on the two that had no caliber listed on the lower (Ruger SR-556 in 6.8Rem and M&P-15 in 5.56) so I updated the caliber pulldown as requested. All others were "firearms with interchangeable barrels".
Those two were moved to "in progress" and there they all sit.

Also helped my son with his and he was done in 40 minutes even with some careful reading and explanations.

I don't like having to do it, but I've had a relatively easy experience mostly based on the prep I did from the info in this thread.

                        Thanks again.
Are you saying that you got the Submission Confirmation Notice emails on all but 2 of the submissions you made 2 days earlier? If so, for the date you submitted, you probably have the record for shortest time from submission to receipt of Submission Confirmation Notice for the month of June, 2018. I submitted an application for just one RAW back in May, and am still waiting for even a peep out of DoJ.

It's legal, as long as you meet the requirements of it being legally purchased between 2001-2016 with a BB. You have to check it is a feature in a box as a "forward pistol grip".

Nothing special, it's a 9mm rifle right? Pretty straightforward. Follow the guide.

You are not the only one who woke up just in time. Another Calgunner posted the same thing a day or two ago. Just be thankful you found out now instead of after June 30th.

As far as the Scorpion, I just did mine. Is yours the kind with a fake suppressor on it, or the one with a flash hider? If you have a fake suppressor, I recommend removing it for the pictures. I think my application is still held up because I didn't. Be sure to state in the Comments section that "the stock folding and collapsing mechanism has been disabled and the stock neither folds nor collapses."

My thread on Scorpion faux suppressor removal:

                            Thanks for the help, romukom!

Your option is to go featureless or disassemble it for now. Remove the bolt and keep it separate from the rifle. This video shows how, in case you aren't familiar:

Now be sure you tell your friends who have magazine fed rifles about this registration nightmare too. Wake them up.

Hey, quick question, I submitted a batch of 4 items a week or two ago, paid my $15, received confirmation of payment from CFARS...

Will I receive emails from them re: any questions they have or problems, or will they contact me about that through the CFARs website?

Also, is it normal after you submit for your Pending Cart to show 0 (zero) items in it? Right now, when I log in, everything shows zero. It's like there is no record of my earlier submission... Normal?
