i was at cabelas in reno and....

they had a colt saa bisley in 32-20 made in 1904. cabelas employee told me i couldnt buy and have sent to ffl here in california? thought since it was single action revolver that it was ok for me to do. didnt argue with the guy as at 1600 bucks i felt the gun had mixed parts etc or else cabelas would have been asking a lot more. one of those if it seems too good to be true it usually is,lol. so who was right??

They are wrong, and not just because it is a single action. C&R's handguns are exempt from the roster.

Effective January 1, 2001, no handgun may be manufactured within California, imported into California for sale, lent, given, kept for sale, or offered/exposed for sale unless that handgun model has passed firing, safety, and drop tests and is certified for sale in California by the Department of Justice. Private party transfers, curio/relic handguns, certain single-action revolvers, and pawn/consignment returns are exempt from this requirement.

It's probably more like a misinformed employee. That Cabelas has a special section for CA compliant handguns, so they definitely have a "will ship" policy.

Exactly, when shopping there make sure you talk to the people in the "gun library". They know about the C&R stuff and CA compliant firearms.

            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Do you have a C&R? If not it would need to be shipped to a FFL 01. If you have a C&R you should be able to buy it bring it into the state and then send the state $19.
