Tell her American Indians used AK 's in the early 70's !

Yes, purchase now, if you can. Not only because of the political climate, but also the economic one. The value of a an American dollar is shrinking; who knows, you just might pay more for firearms next year than now. It may be cheaper to buy now than wait.

        pre-ban1
        post-ban
        no-ban / pre-new ban
        new ban

        I'll be confusing.
But I don't think it will happen, at least not in the latest form presented, they were banning M1 carbines, 1911s, glocks, and mini-14s for crying out loud.
No way that version would pass, especially now post-heller.
A toned down version? Maybe, probably not. A very-toned down version? I'd say 50/50.
I do think we'll get something though. Not all in one big shot AWB, maybe an executive order banning import of this or that, a rider placed in to some other bill to do one small thing, another rider in another bill to do something else, etc.
Obama is so anti gun, regardless of what he says, that it would be foolish to think that he won't at least try something, and get away with half of something.
        Only time will tell
Haha thats dumb. How the hell could they know if it was built before the ban? RETARDED!

If by "a AR" you mean 2 or more AR lowers, then yes buy them ASAP. Later you can decide if you want a .556, .50 Beowulf, .458 Socom, .222 Remington, .17HR, .450 Bushy, 7.62x39, .22lr, .204 Ruger, .300 Whisper, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel, .45, .40, 9mm, 10mm, ect, ect. ect. Once you learn of the possibilities, you will want more than one anyways so you mas as well start now and buy parts as they go on sale.

im aware of all the different sized uppers. ive got some great hunting weapons, i think ill be happy with just the 5.56.

the only one i may consider is .204 with a 24" barrel setup for varmint hunting. that would be interesting to have that calibre in semi auto. just incase a few yotes roll in at once.

but yea, my cash flow only allows for one complete setup as of right now. im trying to save for a 3.5" hunting shotgun. could have bought 3 novas by now lol!
