    Transporting Rifle on a Motorcycle

Is it still OK to carry a rifle in a soft rifle case while riding a motorcycle.
I would be carrying it in a soft case strapped to my back.
The rifle case has a bult in back strap.
I would also remove the mag and the bolt and put them in my saddle bags.
And I would not be carrying any Ammo.

Should not be a problem except for the idiot panic call.

I carried an SKB case with rifle in it on the back seat of my bike using a custom shelf all the way to Los Angeles and back.

I use this when I'm riding:

Much less conspicuous than an actual rifle case.

I stuff mine in a backpack, tie the zippers in place, and slide something over the barrel.

i use a 40" soft case with the backpack straps. I'll just say it is not the most comfortable as it sits higher then my helmet thus catching the wind when on the freeway.

Man why would you want to break your rifle and your bike. If you lay that thing down good chance your out a bike and rifle. I ride but dont think I'd ever carry the rifle with me

Life is full of risk, especially if you ride. IMO, it's not much more risky... If I'm down on the way to the range, the last things I'll be worrying about are my bike and my rifle. I'll probably be more worried about my hide...

Chabot a couple of times. Never been to Coyote point.

Most of the time I go shooting on the bike, I'm shooting a handgun.

Oh. Isn't Jackson Arms closer? Chabot is probably better though.

For handguns, I usually hit Bullseye after work (I work in SF), since they keep throwing free lane passes at me...

My new friend that just moved from Kansas has a leather rifle scabbard mounted on the side of his Goldwing. He said he used it all the time back east but leary of trying it here.

Like M. Sage said: The Bike and the Rifle are the last thing I'm going to be thinking about.
If I crash my bike I'll get a new one and a new Rifle.
I'm only going to carying it this once to an FFL to sell it.
