That crap won't work OP -

The NRA needs to buy a list of all state government union employees -

Cross reference it with their own database -

And specifically recruit THOSE hunters/gun owners to put pressure on the political puppets they control.....

They should have had commercials for the last few years. They could stop sending out renewal notices 2 times a month and stop all the other money wanting stuff they send and use that money on well made tv spots to help gather support for 2a. But no, that would be asking too much.

WE MIGHT HAVE OUR OWN PERSONAL NRA REPRESENTITIVE BUT HE'S BEHIND THE SCENES. WE NEED A FRONT MAN , A MOUTH PIECE , A FIGURE HEAD SOMEONE OUT SPOKEN. SOMEONE CONSTANTLY MAKING THE NEWS KIND OF LIKE SOME OF THE MEDIA HOGS LIKE JESSE JACKSON AND AL SHARPTON NOT THAT ANYONE WANTS TO BE COMPAIRED TO THESE TWO BUT PLAY THE SAME GAME THEY DO ONLY PRO 2ND AMMENDMENT STYLE. ITS A DIRTY GAME THIS POLITICS IS.

Who's the voice in your opinion? I listen to celebrities opinions ZERO. However, that's just me.

On the other hand if the NRA did a video I think you'd have a lot of rolled eyes around CA and thinks its a scare tactic or advertisement to join and they would ignore. It would have to be very well thought out and not the typical spokesperson. Maybe Colion Noir? A Female? Hell I don't know.

There are over 100 million gun owners but only 5 million NRA members.

Are you seeing the problem yet?

Are you a member of the NRA?

Well, they could run this ad, certainly...

But then again... this is better:

Making guns illegal is as stupid as making drugs or prostitution illegal.

That's the thing though, people like us that can make informed educated decisions don't listen to celeb types. But the dumb ****s Taft run on emotions loooooove to hear what celebs think. Especially the you her crowd, the same way Feinstein and Obama fool and corrupt young minds is the way we can educate people. Through that known voice

I found out just how true this is recently.

I was contacting friends, reminding them to call the various legislators on the Assembly Appropriations Committee (this was a week ago or so). Many of them had no idea that such bills existed, or that such bills could exist.

Had to go through the entire process with many of them, from answering "Why would they create a bill that does that? That's stupid!" to explaining our grassroots intentions.

These are hardworking, honest, pro-2A people who just don't keep up with politics. We, in this forum, need to understand that the lion's share of CA firearms owners are probably in that boat.

Not evil, nor lazy, just unaware. Once I had informed them, they all lent their efforts. I suspect it's too late now (the veto thing might get us one or two bills at most, but no way we get anything beyond that, and perhaps we get nothing), but an NRA commercial could have been a great idea a few weeks ago, or perhaps at some other key time during the process.

The NRA spent 360 grand (or so) on a tiny election in Colorado (and I'm glad they did). That same amount of money will certainly get you a commercial on a major network in prime time (not halftime Superbowl, but almost anything else). Get Colion Noir to do it, and the potential for impact is huge. I would argue further-reaching than any Colorado election, since CA is more influential that CO.

I'm at the point where I suspect the NRA has no idea how to handle California. Sure, we have a lobbyist (not sure he did us any good at all, even though I'm sure his efforts were exemplary), but I'm going to guess his salary is not 360,000 per year. While I am sure the lobbyist is a pro, and a great guy, and did his job as best he could, perhaps it's time to consider putting that money in another direction, because the current direction certainly didn't stop ANY of the most egregious bills.

Like any organization, the NRA needs to evaluate if it's getting the optimum bang for it's buck. Maybe the times have changed, or the strain of anti-gunner in CA is more virulent than the NRA lobbyists can handle. NRA money funneled into other efforts might be able to shift the earth from underneath those anti-2A legislators, and have an effect that the lobbyists can no longer achieve

The add can urge law abiding gun owners to call The Governors office asking him to veto the bills that will be at his desk to sign. Just a thought since I'm an NRA member I figure its worth a shot
You got me thinking...what if the legislation was to regulate/ban broadcasts of football, due to its violent nature. You think the fans would be in an uproar then??? Absolutely!!

The MSM control what is presented. They keep the public dumbed down. THEY are the one's to blame here. They aren't serving the public, but they don't care, because they don't like guns or care about the 2A, or the constitution for that matter. IF the FCC started revoking licenses, that might have some effect, but I doubt the FCC would do that.

ALL THE LAWS THAT PASSED DID SO BY KEEPING THE CALIFORNIA PEOPLE OUT OF THE LOOP IT WAS A HURRY UP BEFORE THE REALIZE THAT THEY ARE BEING DISARMED. A WELL DID COMMERCIAL ABOUT A MINUTE AND A HALF LONG EXPLAINING HOW THESE LAWS GO BEYOND VIOLATING THE 2ND AMMENDMENT AND EXPLAING HOW THESE LAWS WILL AFFECT MILLIONS OF GUN OWNERS WILL GRAB THEIR ATTENTION. THE NRA REP PROBABLY DID DO A GOOD JOB GIVEN WHAT HE WAS GIVEN TO WORK WITH BUT THE NRA NEEDS TO MAKE A STAND NOW IN CALIFORNIA FOR THE GOOD OF EVERY LAW ABIDING GUN OWNER. THE MEDIA MAKES EVERY CALIFORNIA GUN OWNER OUT TO BE SOME URBAN GANG MEMBER OR URBAN VIGILANTE THAT ONLY WANT GUNS FOR DESTRUCTION. THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT LIKE TO HUNT, TARGET PRACTICE AND OWN GUNS FOR SELF PROTECTION. SOME HOW THAT IMAGE NEEDS TO CHANGE WE NEED TO CHANGE THAT IMAGE. WE ARE PAYING THE PRICE FOR SOMETHING WE DIDNT CREATE WHEN WE ARE LOOKED UPON IN A NEGETIVE IMAGE

                                I agree 110%.

You need to market where people can be reached.

                                TV is the best medium.

How about commercials on the weekends between the football games and during Monday night football?
