Your vaginal affairs aren't going to change. Abortion is a SCOTUS ruled right. It isn't going anywhere. You voted against Romney because of a position he might have had when his belief isn't going to change it.

This is why the US is destined for one party rule at the hands of the Democrats.

The reality of matters is that the GOP stands for conservative principles, and that includes restrictions on sexual orientation and abortion. If the GOP abandons those stances, theyre done like last weeks pizza.

Why?Because they have no credibility among the electorate on gay rights and feminist issues.A Republican candidate who promises pro-gay rights would be greeted with the same skepticism a so called pro gun Democrat would be-in other words, they'd say "yeah right" and vote Democrat.
Since the female vote and minorities are the demographic future of America, the GOP is hosed by dint of cultural change. The party is a typewriter factory in a world moving on to word processing.
        Here's the thing.

Your religious views have no place in politics. None. Period.

For a country that claims to preach religious freedom and tolerance, both sides of the platter here sure love to shove their religious viewpoints down people's throats.

It's none of my business if someone wants to abort a baby. It's none of your business either.

It's none of mine, nor your, business if some guy wants to bang another guy that's willing.

        It really freaking isn't.

And SilverTauron is freaking right. The female vote is what lost Romney the election. You can't just go out there and piss off every young female voter in the nation by insisting you, a man, knows what's right for a piece of anatomy you don't even have.

That's the problem right freaking there.

Not only is it alienating the women, but it's alienating the young in general. I'll tell you, over the course of my 30 odd years on the planet, I've met a LOT of people. You know how many of the ultra religous, ultra conservative people were my age or younger?

        2.

You're not going to capture the attention of the younger voters by insisting they have the exact same viewpoints as their crotchety old grandparents.

Speaking of the whole abortion rights thing:

Your abstinence argument is failing. It will always fail. You tell a kid not to do something he's going to do it anyways. Pass out the birth control. Freely. Abundantly. If the child is going to be a moron and go out there and do it against better judgement, at least do what you can to keep them from requiring the oh so controversial procedure in the first place.

I'd rather buy a hundred women the pill so they can go play flower child with the entire football team than pay for her welfare benefits after she pops out a kid she a) doesn't want and b) can't afford.

Of course, going by most other Republican ideas, we can't have that. That would make too much damned sense.

Was the stance my mother took. "Youre going to do it anyways so at least let me put you on the pill." Side effects of clearing up the acne was also nice. >.>

They're stuck in the stone age of insisting that women keep their pants on until they're married and then pop out kid after kid after kid like good little Catholics.

That's not how the real world works.

My issue is less with the "abortion is bad, mmkay" and more with the "absolutely under no circumstances ever is abortion valid, and birth control is just as terrible so it shouldn't exist either" along with that BS line you mentioned there... that one got me. I couldn't believe something that stupid came out of a grown person's mouth.

If some of these people had their way, women would die to pregnancy complications that can be solved simply by terminating said pregnancy.

It's a matter between me and God. Not me and some guy I'm not married to.

PS: I don't support medically unnecessary abortions. I *do* support the choice to. God gave us the ability to make that choice. Not my place to judge.

He was bringing personal religion morality into it.

"we shouldn't be paying for single women to get birth control, it just makes them have sex more! We're paying for them to be whores!"

Would you rather be paying for their welfare anchors? Because that's the other option. And I'll tell you, raising that kid for a woman that didn't want it in the first place is rather expensive.

Why should I have to pay for birth control or welfare. If you want the choice over your vagina, then it's your damn responsibility. Pay for it all yourself if you want men out of it.

As for the bolded part, what about the man paying for a kid he didn't want? Where's his right to choose when he wants a baby. Until I see abortion activist demanding men's rights, I don't care what they have to say. A

God gave you the choice not to have sex. How interesting that choice never gets brought up when women demand the right to "choose".

Anyways, we are way off topic.

I expect Brown to sign 9/10 anti gun bills that hit his desk. That way if he signs all of them, I am not too blown away and if he vetoes more than 1, I am pleasantly surprised.

Let us assume for the sake of things Brown vetos all of those bills currently on his desk.

Its a physical certainty that his replacement won't be so hesitant. If Sacramento fails to get the current laws on the books, they'll try again when the next governor takes office-and given California's politics it'll be someone who makes Andrew Cuomo look like Clint Smith by comparison.

abortion has nothing to do with what you do with your vaginal affairs, and everything to do with what you do with an unborn child. validity of abortion has to come down to at what point do you consider an unborn child a human being.
