I thought the timing was perfect.

"A gun is an offensive weapon used only to intimidate and show power"

So you could logically conclude since it's offensive only..... that police are actually cold blooded murderers with a badge and a gun....

        Then you see this pic....
And try to count the number of bullet holes in the wrong make/model/color of vehicle.... not ANY ATTEMPT whatsoever to identify the occupants of the vehicle....

Yep. You're right chief.... apparently police are cold blooded (attempted) murderers with a badge and a gun.

How can they say these laws won't affect law abiding gun owners???

They will ONLY affect law abiding gun owners because CRIMINALS IGNORE LAWS!!!!!

He's right actually. IF your are a sworn LEO that is. How can it be offensive if it's kept in your house. LEO's haven on their belts for the world to see, respect and fear. Not civilians.

OK, suppose for a minute I would buy his argument that police firearms are in fact not defensive but offensive weapons they need to "do their job".

In what way does it explain off-duty officers carrying firearms. Seems since they are not "doing their job" at the moment, there's no reason at all for them to be armed with "offensive weapons"? Maybe that's where he should start his efforts then? No hassle, no new laws required, just his signature on the order. Wonder how long he would remain the chief, or whatever he is.

                  Such flawed logic and rhetoric.

It would be funny if it weren't such a threat to our civil rights.

                    That makes most LEOs "civilians".

Both of these speakers are civilians - they are chiefs of civilian police departments.

I believe the term you wanted was "citizen".

Who wants to listen to Police Chiefs? The vast majority are city political positions and don't give a f k about you or me anyway.

I try to avoid contact with the gang they run, too.

They're covered by Federal law, any sworn law enforcement officer can carry concealed in all 50 states, no permit required.

This must be why most of the cops I meet don't agree with the CLEOs in their organizations. lol.
Way to throw your rank and file under the bus and paint them in a bad light, chief.

Anyone with some photoshop skills want to make a meme to circulate through the interwebs with that quote and that chief's photo?
