Rand Paul pushing for concealed carry in D.C.?

The District’s refusal to recognize the full meaning of the Second Amendment may not last much longer. A Supreme Court decision in 2008 forced Washington to allow residents to keep arms, and now Congress is pressuring the city to recognize the next part of that constitutional mandate: the right to bear them.

      He is an Ophthalmologist.

Not unheard of for a Senator or Representative to be a medical doctor.

From the linked article in the OP:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid refuses to allow a floor vote on the House-passed national-reciprocity, concealed-carry bill because he knows it might actually pass.

Although such shenanigans are not actual votes on bills, I hope it is enough to get the NRA to oppose Reid if a pro-RKBA challenger is against him during his next reelection campaign.

Yeah, but sadly most of them are lawyers.

And then there're the lawyers in Congress.

IIRC Reid was just re-elected in 2010 (with the NRA's help, which they took a lot of flak for) and he's not going to run in 2016.

This isn't the first time this has happened IIRC. I think DC also had a chance to get 1 rep in Congress, but the GOP put a similiar amendment up and DC whined about it and also had the bill pulled outright. It seems keeping a draconian law in place means more to DC than greater autonomy or representation in Congress. And yes, they're definitely scared that these amendments WILL pass.......

I live in NV - the NRA did not endorse or oppose anyone in that race.
