Details of the Independence Day Parade:

DATE: The Parade is next Wednesday, July 4th.

TIME: Be at the Staging Area by 9:45am or you may not be able to participate in the Parade.

We will start decorating the truck about 8:00am. You are welcome to come early and help or watch all the floats being decorated.

LOCATIONS:
STAGING:
The Staging Area is on Lincoln Ave., between Walnut St. and Willow St.
Our Parade number is #39. Look for this number on the street to find our location on Lincoln Ave. (See attached map of Staging Area).

PARKING:

Option 1:Directions to Alameda College Parking Lot from Oakland:Option 2:
You may park your car on side streets near the Staging Area. Be careful to park legally. If not, you may be ticketed or towed. We will shuttle you back to your car at the end of the parade.

I would suggest you get to Alameda early. There will be over 50,000 people attending the parade and parking will be limited. Finding parking on the side streets will be difficult and the Alameda College parking lots may fill up early. The distance from the Staging Area to end of the parade, at Lincoln Ave. and Webster St. is about 2.5 miles and to the Alameda College parking lot is about 3 miles.

It would be great to have a couple of Calgunners there besides Wash and myself. C'mon folks! Who doesn't love a parade?

The Alameda County NRA Members Committee takes part in this parade every year. You should contact them and volunteer to help or walk in the parade. The more support we can show, the better represented the 2nd A. will be.

Oh yes, Barbara Lee is whacko. She is the east bay version of Nancy Pelosi, always being voted back into office by the leftist Democrat base that dominates Oakland politics. She's out of touch with the people who live in Oakland. Read a bit of Oaklander's other thread about Oakland politics.

I can not think of a 3rd party candidate in the entire USA that has won a seat for a congressional district.

My I suggest she enter the GOP primary and freedom loving people through out the state ,maybe even the nation will add support .

even with national support ,a republican has a huge obstacle to overcome in that district .

The GOP primary is over. Republicans can't win in this part of Alameda County.

California does "top two finisher" elections. Marilyn will be on the ballot and Barbara Lee will be on the ballot. That's it.

This is my District. I've had to endure more than a decade of Pete Stark because no one had the stones to run against that lunatic. I now have the chance to replace one of the calcified members of Congress and I'll be damned if I don't at least lend a little of my weight to her campaign.
