Sounds like they had the interned pencil pushers manning the phones on purpose. We musn't underestimate this crook Yee and his cronies, but I believe that someone up in Yee's chain has some knowledge of how to make this bill more specific and palatable to attempt to pass it, they are just trying to see how much they can take and run to take as much of our rights as possible in one broad sweep.

This pattern was present with other bills, like AB962 and AB144.

Though I completely agree with you for zealots like Yee the only "people" he thinks are out there are the ones that agree with him. We don't count at all in the "people" aspect of his thinking.

Call all you want but this guy really does think that every time a simi auto rifle is sold that a angle bursts into flames, falls to earth and lands on a child killing them. Nothing sort of legal means will stop him as was disturbingly apparent with his video game legislation. MILLIONS of calls and letters from all over the country didn't stop him, it took the supreme court to do it.

Good luck all but this head on approach with this guy is completely worthless.

Because there is no "loophole" at all. A loophole would mean that there was a way to have a standard release on a simi auto centerfire rifle with any evil features circumventing the AWB. There is no such thing other then in Yee's twisted little mind.

In Yee's mind the people of CA banned AWB's and the BB is simply taking advantage of a poorly written law...like a loophole.

Here's one way of responding to a loophole claim: RAWs are very different from offlist lowers due to the BB and magazine capacity limitations. We're already limited to a "neutered" version of this semi-auto platform that's functionally surpassed by other, more powerful rifles that are have neither of those limitations or "evil" features (M1A, etc)
