Everyone knows that OLL's were ruled legal for sale and possession in the 2001 California Supreme Court Case Harriet vs. Kings County. Can Yee's SB-249 supersede the Judicial ruling via legislation.
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Well, I had a lot to do this morning, but I just spent the last three hours calling, faxing and signing online petitions to every mother son on the political list to oppose the bill. Whew! Hope it works.

Same! I havent gotten much work done today. I have been doing the same.
-- I love the mythological significance given to Dum Dum Bullets. As if they're little tactical nukes, stacked up in "Assault Clips" ready to be "sprayfired" "from the hip" by pistol grip equipped "bullet hoses" instead of early variations of the softpoint bullets people have been using to take game with (and use for self-defense) for the last century.

In Yee's case, it's not ignorance, it's hostility. When he found out that his bill was in conflict with the existing ban and was trying outlaw a device that is already illegal to use, he rewrote the bill yet again. He doesn't care how effective this bill is on crime or not, he does not want law-abiding citizens to have firearms. This was apparent in his interview that CBS5 used in their story to start this whole fight:
"These guns don't belong in Californa. No discussion, no debate."

I will not move out of state and I will never give up my guns. They can come for me if they wish.

I would rather see hundreds if not thousands of calgunners show up on the doorstep of the legislature with our AR-15's in hand. When the police show up we load them simultaneously. Imagine the news coverage. Imagine the look on the faces of the legislature. The police would be on our side, we know that. They would refuse to level their weapons on us. 2A was created for exactly this kind if situation.

I think I just came up with my next movie idea! Wow... a man can dream.
These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along, move along.

Ate up my lunch break writing the Governor and my Assemblymember. I'm in Steinberg's district and he's already told me to pound sand before, but sent anyway.

Gun Room has a stack of StopSB249 information sheets and sent them the link for petition hardcopies.

Yes, you'll be able to possess the OLL receiver itself. Just not a functional firearm.

It started off as ignorance. I refer to the audio coverage of the Public Safety committee. But after Aurora, I guess someone in his camp decided to use Google for once in their lives and found real "good" restrictive language that would make us lube up and take it. So, yes, now it is hostile, since he no longer cares about the minority, yet loud opposition to his aberration. He thinks that the popular mass hysteria, which is non-existent save for California (but that's for a later argument), he can boldly go where he did not dare go before. Our job? Is to prove that he is sorely mistaken and now needs to SFTU...

How would featureless rifles be prohibited? Or are you suggesting a featureless OLL is not functional?

40some years ago the gun the antis hated was the 'Saturday Night Special', seen as a small, concealable handgun. The anti gunners told us that they had no interest in taking away our long arms. This recent move is why gunowners fight to the last cartridge opposing gun regulations. There is never an end to it.

Trying to put the word out there on a few message boards.

Crazy how quickly things can progress when you tune out for just a little while.
