2 different questions.
Dealers have been required to report handgun sales since 1924 in pretty much the current format, but the requirement was there earlier.
The Legislature required substantially all firearms transfers to go through an FFL beginning in 1991.

Just stick them all in a big envelope and store the envelope with your guns. Costs almost nothing, and might - might - come in handy should one of those sold guns turn up stolen or used in a crime, and the nice folks from DOJ/BATF drop by and ask.
If it were a whole file cabinet drawer full, I'd scan them in as documents and save them off to a CD or two.

I've had to straighten out AFS printouts I requested in 2007 and in 2011. Keeping records and receipts makes the process so much easier. Save every scrap of paper from any gun transaction/transfer. Only you can fix the mess DOJ has made of the database -- I feel like I should get paid to do their job.Life Member NRA and 2A Foundation.

I don't think there is anything to link the guns to you, is there? Since this is before DROS?
But yeah... there's no reason not to keep them. It's jsut a couple pieces of paper. Buy an accordian folder, put all paperwork in there. I keep my firearm paper work with taxes, w-2s, car insurance etc. Some people don't do this but if 5-0 ever comes knocking about a firearm you sold through PPT show them the paper work and send them on their merry way.sigpic I am only here for the milk and cookiesComment
