Because lightning links exist would this bill also include AR pistols?

I think they modified the language so it's really only glock style guns now. In prior versions I think it may have banned AR pistols.

Don't worry, it'll eventually attempt to ban all semi auto firearms on the same nonsensical legal strategy. It's a bunch of nonsense. They know it. We know it. It's just whatever they think they can get away with. When Gav Boy and Bonta OWN the 9th, makes thinking up illegal and Unconstitutional laws really easy.

Unfortunately, with Glock phasing out the Gen 3 and 4 / 5 / 6 aren't on the Roster, Glock may decide to leave this alone since the future sales volume of Gen 3 might not be high enough to justify the lawsuit cost.
The bill covers guns with a "cruciform" (cross shaped) trigger linkage connector.
If Glock sees a chance to get 4 / 5 / 6 sales in CA, I am sure they will go to court.

Glock actively discontinues Gen3,4,5 models altogether. Here is the list.
GLOCK Streamlines Firearm Offerings to Make Room for Future Innovation

California is a dream market for any gun manufacturer. Glock, i am sure, will fight for it. Then again, they are not going to modify their guns with LCI and MDM as they stated many times.

And as long as A-holes Gavin and Bonta have a roster, MDM and LCI will be required. Mexican standoff.

Gen 3, G17 and G19 do not appear to be on the phase-out list.

With this much of a cut back, a large amount of manufacturing capability will be available. This is leading some folks to think that a Gen 6 may appear in the next year which may/may not contain roster “features. A change to the iconic cruciform structure may also make the guns immune to the addition of switches. Pure speculation at this point.

Did they grandfather machine guns back in the day??
They (the state of California) banned new LCMs but grandfathered those already in possession. They later removed the grandfathering.

                    Incremental encroachment.

Back in the days, Glock made it crystal clear they won't conform to CA gun roster requirements. That may change, of course. All we know that Gen3 (17,19,26) is a cash cow for Glock in CA market, and it's worth the legal fight.

Back in the day…Glock said Gen 1 is perfection. Then Gen 2. Then RTF. Then Gen 3. Then Gen 4. Then Gen 5. Now, maybe Gen 6. If they continue evolving, they may be able to provide a “rosterable” firearm with all of the current bells and whistles.

Maybe, indeed. So far, they didn't move a finger to compromise the quality and satisfy the handgun roster bs requirements.

‘A lot of other fingers have been moved and raised to us by manufacturers: https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/de-certified-handguns

At least Glock has kept a large door open, likely at significant cost.

I am sure Glock makes very good profits from Gen3 on CA market.

Not really the point, is it? At least they remained in the CA market. Others raised the finger and left. For example: Find a new or old Colt 1911 (not Curio or Relic) on the roster.
