What exactly is a "pistol converter"? I am guessing the intent is to ban Glocks because of " glock switches", but the wording is highly convoluted. Sounds like the solution to a non problem OR a backdoor to ban all semi-auto handguns. Kind of like "because you have a penis you are a potential rapist."

Good luck with that. If there was ever a firearm that meets the definition of common use, it would be a Glock. There are probably millions in California.

No it bans the pistol's which may be converted also.

16415. As used in this part, “convertible pistol” means any semiautomatic pistol that can be converted into a machinegun solely by the installation or attachment of a pistol converter.

(a) (1) Commencing on January 1, 2026, it shall be unlawful for a firearms dealer licensed pursuant to Sections 26700 to 26920, inclusive, to sell, offer for sale, exchange, give, transfer, or deliver any semiautomatic convertible pistol.

So it may make it impossible to buy a glock, maybe AR pistol's too.

I'm probably going to pick up a G19 today. I already have a G17, I am not particularly enamored of Glock but when the most evil state in the union decides its going to tell me that I can't and shouldn't buy one, I kind of have to.
