what are the benefts of Life NRA membership?

I should know, but all I get is a magazine subscription for ever.
I'm not complaining - though they do seem to not flood me with request for money, my guess is they know how broke I am ;-)

There must be more to it, for me the main benny is ( besides the obvious, putting my hard earned money where my mouth is & helping out gun rights) the mag subscription plus I have a cool life member NRA card, being as broke as I am right now people sometimes don't believe me.

I would like to get other people to be life members, what can I tell them is in it for them?

That cool lifetime membership card plus $5.50 gets you a cup of coffee anytime you like at Starbucks.

Seriously, your lifetime membership money allows them to drop those funds into some kind of interest bearing account, like a mutual fund. Through the magic of compound interest, your money provides funding for their ongoing efforts even after you've gone Tango Uniform.

          1. You never have to remember to pay your dues every year. I'm terribad at that, so I just bit the bullet and paid up for life. Plus it does eventually pay for itself.
          2. Free magazine.
          3. Ever year around Christmas time we lifers get the option to add new lifers to the NRA for only $300 each. A really sweet deal considering I paid a lot more for my membership.
          4. Apparently we get $10,000 accidental death coverage for free.
          5. I don't know if your interested, but I've been getting promotional stuff to upgrade to lifetime endowment membership. Not sure if they get anything special, but it is an option.
          6. You are permanently an additional number for total people in the NRA. That number helps sell us in Congress.

That's the main points I can think of at the moment.

You are a member of the NRA for life. That's a benefit.
Oh, and you support the #1 RKBA group in the USA.
Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

I think you get increased ArmsCare gun insurance too.

Oh, I need to look into that.

Apparently if you cough up $1000 you can also get a "free" leather jacket.

You get to start voting in NRA elections right away if you are a life member. If you just pay year to year then you need to stay a member for five or more consecutive years.

Main benefit for me is I'm not hassled to rejoin every year.

This ^^^ I don't receive pesky "renew now" reminders in the mail every week for 6 months out of the year. Now I just receive the "upgrade your membership" notices once or twice a year. Plus they actually listened to me when I asked to not receive their fundraiser / wine club fliers.

You also get a nifty lapel pin that I have on my car club jacket. Nothing pisses of the aircooled VW crew like knowing there's an NRA life member amongst them.

Seriously though, the main benefit is that I know at least someone is doing at least a little work to lobby for my 2nd amendment rights (aside from my donations to CGF). But what most people forget is that's not all they do. They coordinate hunter safety classes as well as all sorts of other pistol, rifle and shotgun safety and defense classes. They provide grants to help ranges throughout the country improve their facilities as well as run shooting competitions. All that money comes from your funds. As a life member your money is able to be invested by them so they can afford to do these things.

Thank you, exactly the info I was looking for. I'm currently in a 5-year membership but I'll likely up it to life when I get closer to the end.

You get to wear a cool cap with scrambled eggs on it and you get to use to the NASCAR VIP Lounge at Walmart.

Seriously you get the satisfaction your supporting an organization that supports the 2A.
