Like debating against antigunners online? Try this Seal Beach Article's Comments.

This article on the Seal Beach shooting (not sure if dupe) is by far the most complete on the incident out of all that I've seen on the web so far.

It has high-def pictures of the suspect, his vehicle that the cops pulled him over in, exterior scene of the crime, some items and equipment he had on him at time of arrest, etc.

A big kicker is that the shooter's truck has a "join the Tea Party" license plate frame, it's clearly visible in one of the article's pictures.

Anyhow, to get to the meat of this thread, I noticed the top rated commenter on the article's comments section happens to advocate more gun control and he's ragging on the Tea Party due to the license plate frame mentioned above. I couldn't stand to let that attitude go unchallenged, so I have attempted to start a debate with these antigunners. Feel free to join the fray, but be aware that you must sign in thru facebook to post comments.

Let's see if these anti's can put forth any logical arguments to support their Nanny-state ideologies.

Did you guys see this post?

So if you are in a violent car crash, someone dies, you don't undergo counseling, there is "another side to the story" when you decide to kill several people?
This woman will probably become a jailhouse groupie to this guy.....

Back on topic...there are some well reasoned pro-gun comments by pro-gunners.

I wonder how effective it would be for the pro-gun community to organize and have a strike force to respond to incidents like this...you can get police scanner apps on a smart phone, show up on the scene with a sign, "we need more LEGALLY armed citizens. As a reporter comes over have an articulate message to deliver on what a shame it is that the citizens have to become bullet sponges while waiting for a coroner to arrive?

How could this shooting have ever happened? The guy had a restraining order placed days before the event. Obviously that made it impossible for him to be in possession of a firearm. How did he ever manage to get past that hurdle to committ this terrible atrocity?

The shooting is a deep wound and many people on here aren't the eloquent raconteurs they think they are.

              My point is, tread lightly..

The Second Amendment is the one right that is so fundamental that the inability to exercise it, should the need arise, would render all other rights null and void. Dead people have no rights.

This. It makes me cringe when "educated" types believe in knowledge and facts, yet presented with facts about gun violence (and the disproof of a causation to violent crime) they yak away and on an emotional tirade.

One re-occuring fact to put in your quiver of pro civil rights (2nd) argument.

The corollary to that is ----- When confronted by an armed individual the gun-person politically correct term shot themselves-------

i like the comments left here by the pinko commie beatniks. the only gun control you should be asking for, is that every able bodied person is allowed to defend themselves from harm with the use of guns. if you beatniks, would stop and think, you might be able to contain yourself long enough to figure out that criminals will get guns with any means neccesary, while all you commies are doing is making it harder for the law abiding man to protect himself from said criminals. who will come to your defense, when you gun grabbers take all the guns? NOBODY! who will defend you when you uc berkeley graduates rip apart our constitution, NOBODY! you deserve neither liberty or security if you seek to deminish the rights of our land.

According to this AP article, there was no restraining order. He had a TRO in 2007, but more importantly in 2008 he pleaded guilty to assault and battery. That would have prohibited him from legally possessing guns, right?

Odd the AP fails to mention that.
