SFPD Chief on CCW today on 810 AM

A man from Yolo called and asked if the Chief thought the current policy (non-issue) was fair, especially in light of those who have been issued by SF in the past. The new Chief responded that should he receive one of those applications, it will be given an objective look, but the applicant had better have a very good reason for asking because the chief doesn't want anyone carrying weapons in SF, especially concealed, and especially if they are not cops.

I felt like calling in just to let them know I carry in SF very frequently, concealed, and I'm very much not a cop.

He also mentioned how smart DiFi was for drafting assault ban legislation after the 101 California shooting and how civilians have no use for HiCaps, they just serve to endanger the public and his officers.

Interesting. But he's basically saying he's not going to issue...

Can't wait for SCOTUS to tell him tough ****. SF law enforcement can't deny 2A rights anymore than they can choose which ethnicities get to vote.

Will someone please roll up a copy of the Constitution -- the thing this so-called law enforcement officer swore to uphold -- and shove it down his throat?

        Yeah, I know: CGF will do that in . . . .

The Chief of Police is a man hired by the mayor who does not want to lose his job as San Francisco Chief of Police. If the Chiefs policy does not mirror that of the Mayor and Supes he will be removed. The Sheriff is who we need to entice in this part of CA.

Glad someone here understands. Gotta point out your anger towards the elected officials who do all the hiring.

Theoretically, that's why we have limits on government, so that elected officials can't be tyrants. Doesn't work as well in practice as it does in theory....

I listened to the radioshow. The chief indicated that he would only issue to individuals if they are police officers. He also argued earlier in the program that he did not believe ordinary citizens should have access to "high capacity" magazines.

Seems like such a ridiculous arguement given the fact that anyone with a permit of any other county can legally carry in his city, so all he is doing is keeping his thumb down on the citizens of his city who pay his salary.

You know Chief.....Sacto ain't that far away and I'm sure you have alot of regular visitors from Sacto who are carrying in your city even damn day! Get an effin' clue. These CLEOs and their elitest BS make me wanna puke.

Yet another reason for me to never spend a dime in SF County or City. Carve it out, sell it to the ChiComs. Let the holier-than-thou liberal socialist get a feel for where they want the rest of the country to go.

Tell that to the ballot boxes dumped in the bay last November.

/Ok I'm half kidding, I'm not suggesting LE is responsible for that.

It shouldn't be up to him. I don't care how he feels about it.
