    C&R question

I'm looking at the C&R application and it asks for the Chief Law Enforcement Officers name and address?
I live in a small community. Would this be the supervisor of the local Sheriff station?

if you have a police dept in your city, it would be the chief of police, and the address would be the dept.
if sheriff, then it would be the County Sheriff, and that dept address.

I'm on the outskirts of San Diego County. We're under Sheriff Jusrisdiction. Would it be my local substation or the Main Sheriff office downtown?
I read that it would be whomever would personally deal with an issue with applicatnt

If your city is contracted by the sheriff, then it's the county sheriff, not the substation.

When you call the cops, who shows up? Use them.

Thats what i had read and makes sense to me. But then again, this is the ATF and who knows what they're thinking?

So it seems I'm split on William Gore, the Elected Sheriff of San Diego or my local Supervisor.

I just don't want this thing getting kicked back for the wrong info on a line

              Send it to Gore.

I highly doubt that if you sent it to 'the wrong person' that anything will happen. Most sheriffs just throw the letter away anyways.

Forget the substation - it's Gore - he's the chief LEO for unincorporated SD county.

It is the chief of police or the sheriff, not a supervisor. The reality is that it goes to someone else, but that is not your issue, you just address it to the Sheriff or the Chief of Police, depending on where you live, which in your case is the Sheriff. They can make a paper airplane out of it for all that it matters to you once you send it to them.

I live in an unincorporated area that is really the sheriff's responsibility, but if I call 911 or my alarm goes off (), the local PD shows up (and they don't even know that it's county real estate). I said F it, and sent it to both.
