    CA compliance question

My AR is CA compliant with a bullet button. Does the rifle have to have a mag installed to be ca compliant. For instance if I had my rifle in it's case without a mag in it is that wrong? Or in it's scabbard in my backpack in a legal place to carry firearms without the mag in it.

I looked all over and couldn't find the answer and I really don't want to assume. My search-Fu is weak.

It does not need a magazine to be compliant.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Correct. It's ok not to have a mag in because as soon as you do it is locked in place by the BB.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

        Asked and answered.

And again, people, let's try for better thread titles. This one would be more useful if it were something like 'do mag-locked rifles always need a mag installed?' That was your question - put it in the title.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
