I dont see a way that can be accomplished with the cartels roaming around. The cartels would have to be eliminated first. Then take the cartels weapons and money, give it to rebels like the Zapatistas and the Mexican revolution of 2011 would start.

don't forget (daddy) the US would never allow this to happen..the zapatistas have anti capitalist belief, and are pro land for the peasant's...the mexican military is funded, trained, and ran by the US military, a revolution is the last thing the US wants...

one way a revolution could happend if these kinping drug cartel leaders would wake up and start arming, trainning, supporting the poor from mexico to start a revolution againts the mexican gov (back by the US)

or you could have a non violent revolution tru the election process (similar to what happend in venezuela) and vote these dirty gov people out, and put people in power who have the best interest of the poeple and not the US and these muliti billion dollar corporations...

What would be hilarious payback for Obama's hypocrisy is if Mexico sued the Feds (DOJ & Obama) for the DOJ 'sting' operation where they encouraged straw buys and knowingly allowed a few thousand guns into trafficker hands ... If you mean the "90% of firearms seized from cartels" tripe, then you're absolutely wrong. Project Fast and Furious aside, the majority of firearms used by cartels come from corrupt military personnel or others in S. America, and from defectors/deserters from the Mexican military or are stolen from same.

Yes, they're greedy SOBs and also try to use straw purchasers to obtain semi-auto AKs and ARs in border states like TX and AZ, but that's a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the select fire rifles and grenades and heavy MG's they're getting from S. America and elsewhere.

No... he probably means that most of the firearms came from deserting soldiers (Mexican) and other South American countries that purchased military grade weapons from the US government... then turned around & sold them to the Cartels. That would make them of US origin.
