    Working Together

We proved that the 2A communities when we all come together, and work as a team can move mountains. We need to meet and talk and come up with a workable plan. The NRA, Cal-Guns, GOA, GOC, OC, CRPA, 2AF, Tea Party, DU, all of us need to be able to talk and communicate.

Interesting, from what I can see MOST of those organizations do talk and work together.

We're like a typical family, we can squabble amongst ourselves, but we're still family. A brother can pick on his sister, but if someone else tries to pick on his sister, watch out!

Yeah, most of the groups that actually accomplish stuff ALREADY talk to each other and communicate.

Soooo... What are you asking for here, exactly?

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Exactly. That's what we're doing, right here and right now on the Interweb.

A little bit more tolerance of others intoxicants, lifestyles and family planning would go much farther than Open Carry in gaining more support of the non comitted 2A supporters. I have been in a cocoon the past 20 plus years. My guns all living the sweet dark life of safe queens. I got to say getting back into the gunworld, that many of the gunowners of today are whiners and freeking blindingly non tolerant. **** I would never have known my Cal legal SCAR 16S was possible if I only listened to the whining about BB's and 10 rnd mags. Of course when family took precedence over guns 20 plus years ago there was not much internet. So the wackiest of gun nuts did not have as much of a voice. But you know, there are hippie, liberal and gay gun owners. The 2A does not discriminate like so many of its seemingly most ardent supporters. Oh and to all you who brag about not living in California? Go the freek back to your own cousin loving forum. How many who brag about not being from California live in a freekin county that doesn't sell alcohol? Gun owners should be tolerant of all, not just bible clingin tea partiers. YMMV

A MAYBE MAP OF THE FUTURE
                    Position Paper 23E
The goal of the Guns and Dope Party -- return to constitutional democracy -- will probably remain unacceptable to many in this country. Especially in the middle of the continent, a majority seems to prefer the tyranny of TSOG and its associated "faith-based organizations." Thus, Western secession must remain on our agenda, at least as a distinct "maybe."

In Freetopia we will end all "faith-based" bans on scientific and medical freedom, including the verbots against orgonomic medicine, LSD, cloning, stem-cell research etc. Every citizen will choose the type of health care he or she wants, just as they did in the old U.S. before the Tsarist take-over. Every scientist will research whatever she or he finds most interesting. In short, we will become full members of the "civilized" world again, and ostriches will have the respect they deserve.

Meanwhile, the Tsarist states will probably sink deeper and deeper into barbarism, becoming more and more terrified of a world that also feels more and more terrified of them -- until like all closed systems they choke on their own entropy
                    [communication jams] and perish.
                    Maybe.

The issues dividing us are not the guns.

Most groups are guilty of mixing other issues in to our fight for gun rights.

There are a lot of rights I want to see Americans have but I don't want someone protesting for guns and dope at the same time. Do it separately, you don't have to combine both interests at every opportunity.

We have to believe that our personal differences are less important than our shared interest in gun rights.

We have to become organized and follow orders.

To really work together, we need to get leadership of all the groups together, figure out what each group does best and divide the important tasks among us. With one goal and a unified strategy the antis don't stand a chance.

The only problem is getting everyone to agree.

At CGF, they have a group of people who they call "the right people", as far as I know that includes top level CGF people, a few lawyers and some good people from other groups. They get things done, don't cause any PR problems and they have a strategy and purpose that is 100% gun rights.

That's how effective we need all of our leadership to be.

Some of the groups out there have demonstrated little willingness to participate in a winning strategy and instead embark on a campaign of demonstration that makes us look bad, encourages anti-gun legislation and give the antis a target to speak out against.

The way to win is to work together and for some people that will mean doing what is needed rather than doing what they want.

A little personal sacrifice for the greater good.

Don't worry, when it comes to guns we are all on the same side, we just can't let desire trump strategy and we need to fight the battles that we can win, not pick fights that we will lose.

                        This board.

Overall I woud say that this forum is open to diverse ideas and people and many in Calguns are willing to step out of the box.
