EDITORIAL: Gun grabbers grasp at straws

had to close 3 advertisements that were over the page.
As the number of guns per capita increased, the violent crime rate has fallen - down 6.2 percent last year, according to the FBI. With murders down, the left had to come up with a way to pretend there are fewer guns. Otherwise, the public might draw the obvious conclusion that the repeal of useless gun-control restrictions like the so-called assault-weapons ban has only made us safer.Originally posted by greasemonkey1911's instill fairy dust in the bullets, making them more deadly.Comment

Get something like Google Toolbar and you can block all those annoying popups.
(I'm sure there are others, but that one works well enough for me. I can't use the I.E. popup blocker as I develop web pages with legitimate popups and the I.E. blocker won't let me allow "local host" or "127.0.0.1".)
I do like the article. W.T. is being really supportive these days.John -- bitter gun owner.
All opinions expressed here are my own unless I say otherwise.

"...attendees who revere the Second Amendment have even more to celebrate this year."

Yeeeahh, well if that's truly the case, my recent uptick in buying guns is offseting that decline.Comment

I like that the Washington Times is finally steping up to the reality plate and calling them out for what they are..... "Gun Grabbers".Comment

I think they've always been supportive. The WT was founded by the Moonies, and, IIRC, Rev Moon's son (or grandson?) started Kahr Arms.
I think you may have been thinking of the Washington Post. It, like the NYT, are the major newspapers in the NE and are, last I heard, still hard-core anti.Comment

Ha! That article was great! I love when they call them what they are...GUN GRABBERSThe liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!Comment

Pretty good editorial, too bad it's in the Washington Times, which is something of a yellow publication.Comment

I really want to see an article like this is the WaPo or NYT. To be fair, over the past two years or so, I have seen a small number of articles that were scrupulously fair minded in both publications (of course, one gets the feeling that they were compromise pieces between a pro-gun leaning writer and the editorial staff) which you would have never seen ten years ago.

P.S. What on earth is the origin of the expressions that follow the formula, "Obvious...is obvious?" I've had great success in suppressing my spelling and grammar Gestapo tendencies but there is something about that particular construction that really irks me.Bless, O Lord, this creature beer, which thou hast deigned to produce from the fat of grain: that it may be a salutary remedy to the human race, and grant through the invocation of thy holy name; that, whoever shall drink it, may gain health in body and peace in soul. Through Christ our Lord. AmenComment
