I love how him being denied a permit is mentioned in the article, like it means ANYTHING at ALL! Did he maybe also play with toy guns as a kid some 45+ years ago?

This article is a prime example why, when I move, I move my own guns. If it means putting them in my truck and driving 3,000 miles to another state, I still move my own guns.

Hey at least we havent gotten this bad.

In NYC and the five boroughs, a civilian cannot shoot/use/rent a HANDGUN or PISTOL without having a NYC Handgun License issued by NYPD License Division. At Westiside we offer the opportunity for novices to experience the excitement of firing a .22 Caliber Rifle without the need of a NYC permit!...

It's gonna cost him a boatload of cash to fight this. Could be the brass knuckles are a bigger issue than any of the firearms?
Any self respecting calgunner ought to have more than 2833 rounds of ammo though.
Who knew. An AK-47 and a 12 pump shotgun are now considered heavy weapons. Or maybe they were referring to the stage pistols.
Yes, the brass knuckles are going to be a problem.

But more than that, when celebrities, billionaires, NFL players, etc, get busted with illegal guns, I ask a few questions to myself. Did this person make the effort to get legal?

Like when this billionaire in La Jolla was caught with various illegal weapons and sentenced. He had the resources that he could have done it legally. He could have gotten a CCW for a machine gun legally if he had wanted to. But he chose to buy them illegally instead. For what?

And my next question: was this person actively involved in fighting for gun rights for the rest of us? For many of the celebrities, the answer is, no, in fact they tend to be very liberal and support far-left politicians. They support gun control and when they get caught by their own gun laws, it's hard for me to sympathize.
I agree with ya if the guns are in fact illegal there. I know they have some really zany laws with guns, (Sullivan act etc) so like here he may have been in possession of illegal guns. The other problem is he was bringing them here. If he didn't know about bullet buttons and the like with the AK and hi cap mags he would have been in violation here too. I can't condemn the powers to be quit yet unless the guns were really legal and they just screwed the pooch.

He had a red ryder BB gun? He could really do some damage with that and shoot an icicle off the roof of his house and scratch his eye real bad. Glad they caught him the streets are now safer.

someone in LA find this guy

Since he is a well known tatoo artist, it may be possible for us to track him down and talk with him.

Right now he is probably scared, for him to find out that he isn't alone and that people want to help him would probably be a pleasant surprise for him.

A lot of people in his world would be shocked that we would come to his defense.
Who knows, after this, we could possible make owning guns the new cool thing in LA

Of course that would make gun control un cool.

From the article I suspect he has parlayed well given his springboard, but WTFDIK...

The legend of Artie Shaw may well have left very little in modern day residuals, I suspect Jonathan may have largely made his own way, esp. w/ mention of publishing, and more power to him, though I must admit it's all optimistic speculation on my part.

If you find a customer has something "controversial" possibly bring this to their attention or just leave it alone

you are paid to perform a job, not snitch or show them morals
Because that is actually what the movers do when you allow them to relocate your property. The individuals that actually perform the moving of goods that work for the moving, or relocation companies, are the bottom of the barrel of what society has to offer. Many, not all, of these employes have looong wrap sheets and just about all have wage garnishments against them. They especially like when a homeowners belongings go into storage because their theft can go unknown for quite sometime. So what I'm getting at is they just don't snoop through stuff, they damage stuff and then cover it up. They will also outright steal stuff and if they are not caught right away, they are very hard to catch. Firearms, ammunition, jewelry, coin collections and ect. should never be left in the hands of movers. Why is it that I would make such statements? Well at one time I worked in management at a major relocating agency. Since my departure years ago the crew on the trucks appears to have evolved into graduate members of the crypts, bloods and parolees.
This guy was a fool for attempting to ship the firearms in a suit case and duffle bag. In addition, it was probably against the contract that he had signed with the moving/relocation company.

I can't sympathize. A loaded gun laying around for movers to move. Really?
And, agree with it or not, the law is the law.

Yeah, or wrapping them up, putting them back into the safe and letting them move the safe.

Cops discovered an AK-47 assault rifle, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a loaded British rifle, 96 knives, five sets of metal knuckles, eight batons, 2,833 rounds of ammunition, stage pistols and an air rifle, authorities said
                              That's an arsenal of weapons?

I'd like to know what "gun permit" was denied? It mentioned a petty larceny charge in CA years ago(in the same paragraph), so I wonder if it was a CCW in CA.
