This Leo would probably get excited if he was told there were Daisy and Gammo firearms in the house. I was thinking that some people that lurk on this site might get the wrong idea and make little notes regarding potential illegal RAWs. Since I just happened to see a Maadi kit on Gunbroker with a Maadi receiver (not an OLL receiver), I would not be surprised if one showed up in CA. Then again, who would buy a Maadi kit in another state and then move to CA.

How about a letter to the Chief LEO to inform him that his rookie cops need to go back to school and get familiar with the 4th amendment of the constitution, and they may also benefit from a review of the first, and second amendments as well.

OP, first and for most, why not give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was joking. Secondly, take this as an opportunity to educate the LEO. Maybe a range trip is warranted, after explaining everything you need to explain, (start with the Flow chart) and your sure he is up to par on all the legal issues. If his department has taught him what you think they taught him (incorrect info), maybe we should gather some information for them for their training courses. You can not go to the range without seeing at least 2 or 3 people with Non RAW AR's or AK's, and every day people are buying/building more.
