You think what she wants for gun control legislation means anything? Really? She had to convince a dem controlled congress for the past two years and got nowhere. She's even less likely to get a bill out of committee for the next two years, no matter what happens in 2012.

I'm starting on five builds next week (AR rifle and pistol, AK fixed stock, underfolder, and pistol). Does that count?

          This is funny.

We're in California, land of fruits and nuts. A new "assault weapon" ban was the issue that won the race for Boxer.

It probably lost a few out of state races for Democrats because her "assault weapon" ban garbage probably convinced a bunch of people that Democrats still want one.

She probably has a ban all ready to introduce. It has no chance because the Democrats are trying to hold it together and try to get a second term for Obama in 2012.

She'll introduce it, spend about 15 minutes trying to get votes for it, then forget about it. Campaign promise taken care of, now she can do nothing for years.

It's just sad that such a stupid idea could help her win.

What I would not give to see something come up and proven that she accepted money from a drug cartel........or terrorist group...that would be SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!

Box-in a hobo and feinswein will try to ban the dreaded 'sniper rifle'-----hunting rifle...

I remember the last version of the national AWB that tried to be introduced---basically it would have banned by name AND by FEATURES the following-

In addition to the 'usual ones'-
            M1 Garand
            M1 Carbine
            Mini14,30
            M1A
            Lever Action rifles
Commercial hunting semi autos and pump rifles

Basically any rifle that could hold multiple rounds in a fixed OR detach mag, any firearm that had a PG AND/OR 'anything else that could function as a 'grip''-ie regular stock....and I think there was even a clause for 'sniper rifles' but not sure of what the parameters were....
It was a real insidious piece of crap paper.....basically we would have all had to go the black powder cap and ball route......little hard to defend yourself when you are stone age and the gubbmint and crooks(really the same) have all the tech....sharpen those axes....keep the chainsaw fueled!!

No. She can introduce just about any legislation she wants. That's the American political system, and politicians should not be at legal risk for introducing legislation. That's a road we don't want to go down.

I really think they learned their lessons

Not that they would ever give up. I'm pretty sure they will try something along the lines of Bloomberg's MAIG strategy of giving very broad powers to appointed officials, who answer only to them, to 'regulate' guns out of the hands of the citizenry.

I mostly agree, but my post was sarcasm not a prediction of what will happen.

The Democraps no longer have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, they ain't banning squat.

More importantly, the Senate leader is still Harry Reid - unless something surprising happens in the Senate Dem caucus.

It would be much worse for us gunnies if Reid had lost and Schumer had elbowed his way to the leadership position.

And , there are several Blue Dogs who could ( if they choose ) turn independent and caucus with the Republicans. Some of those folks have the balls to do it , and a few have the right combination of popular support , heavy connections , and finely tuned political skills to get away with it.

Like the dreaded HR 45 .
Sponsored by one person out of around 535 voting members on the Hill.. No counterpart bill.
People were panicing; paying $669.00 for WASR-10's and $1,000 up for Blackthorn AR's over it.

Boxer is going to find her next job-detail to be much more difficult than recent past. She just won't have the support group like she previously did; just watch.

IMO all her threats of it were nothing more then political grandstanding before the election. She knows thats not going to be a top priority for anyone.
