People still don't believe me when I tell them that long guns aren't registered.

DROS is not a registration. at least, not yet anyway.

If you want absolutly ZERO record of owning a long guy, buy A C&R rifle face to face with a private individual. even if they have an 03 FFL, they are allowed to destroy the records after three years (when they let there licence lapse) No DROS paperwork is filed with the state of CA, there is no waiting period or any B.S. and its not like with 01 FFL's where when they go out of buisness they have to send in records to the BATFE, they just burn them

on a side note I do have a few enfields, nagats, and steyrs for sale over in the private firearms sale area.... (shameless plug)

I guess they will only let you use 4 of these things. But that is a big negative.

I was totally about to send that form in until I saw that they want $19-per-gun to register them...

          ...I don't think I have enough money.

Come on guys, it's only $19 per gun, and look at what you get...
If you're not a resident of California, please don't waste your time trying to sell handguns here. A: your handgun is not on the approved list, and can't be sold here or B: We can already get it here with less hassle.

Thank you CGF and Leadership FFLs for NeRFing the roster!

When my dad passed away he left me a beretta 21A, is it even worth bothering to register?

If the guns aren't registered, they can't take them away. Thats why registration is such an important prerequisite for the anti-gun groups.

Moreover, I would think that if your gun was stolen, you could report it THEN to the cops with S/N. Hence, you don't need to do it beforehand. Register it with the DOJ after its stolen so they can find it, not before.

So maybe this form is just provided as a service to Brady Bunch members who own firearms so that they don't feel guilty??
What about those yellow 4473 forms?

I have had the forms next to my desk for a year now wondering if I should fill them out. The only incentive there is for me is that if my rifles were stolen getting a firearms ownership record *might* help me get them back.

But for 19 dollars per rifle, it gets kinda pricey...

What makes you believe that this paperwork will increase your odds of getting your property back? Keep good records and detailed photos in case of theft. Give that to police if your guns get stolen. That's better info for them to work with than this "feel good" paperwork. Cheaper too!
