This is the Big Lie that all of them are telling: that the PLCAA grants the gun industry an immunity that is not available to any other industry. Total nonsense. Rather, none of those other industries were being sued for the criminal misconduct of third persons. Ford and Toyota don't get sued when a drunk driver is involved in an accident resulting in deaths. Home builders and travel trailer manufacturers don't get sued when an arsonist sets the structure on fire. Beer and alcohol manufacturers don't get sued when someone gets hit over the head with a glass bottle. But arms manufacturers were sued repeatedly not because their product failed (and for which they are still liable), but in a blatant attempt by gun banners to bankrupt the arms industry.

Interesting analysis , he claims this section of the bill,

Will make it extremely expensive to sue California for firearms related claims.

I hope the whole law gets tossed just for this. The Democrats are desperate and they are throwing everything they can at the wall and hoping anything sticks.

Imagine this being applied to any other civil rights litigation. JFC.

Do you really think Newsom cares about the Constitution?

And it's even less true than that. Civil aviation has something similar I'm pretty sure.

This clearly is unconstitutional. It'll pass, and it'll see its days in courts.

Given how blue California is and how atomized is the state.

Its really no surprise as many folks are too smug or prideful in thinking that America is immune to power hungry politicians that really just don't care, like they don't care because no one will really do anything to keep them in check.

People elect bureaucrats that most likely hate their own voters and in return the people blame some zombie known as the California GOP but love low taxes.

I mean Boudin and other folks don't really hide much about themselves and yet get into office and they must be internally wondering, like really.

Folks on reddit complain about Republicans voting for politicians that hate them, which is true to some extent, and yet will vote for their own politicians that hate them as well.

Clearly an unconstitutional and intolerable act. The lawsuit that takes this on needs to seek to dispose of the author(s)’ and governor’s qualified immunity and hold them civilly liable. This is 1A abuse at a minimum, under color of law, just as post-slavery laws were.
