Might as well go ahead and amend it to state the manufacturer of any product can be sued for criminal use of the product. That way California can return to the stone age.

I'm pretty sure that prior to 1968 when serial numbers became a requirement, a few gun were manufactured without a "traceable serial number".

Those of you that have older C&R arms may have a piece or two without a serial number. My Remington Rider Magazine pistol in my avatar is such a piece.

Legislation without thought one again, regardless if it is impulse or pre-written and waiting for an opportunity.

This bill was introduced in February and has been the subject to tons of discussion on this website.

I don't think they care about older firearms. In many cases the manufacturer no longer exists or it is made by a state enterprise. Imagine California trying to sue Tula!

I don't get it. California is "allowing" someone to sue for something? Anyone can sue anyone for anything, anytime. Doesn't mean you'll win the case.

Yeah, this is how I see it. It's political grandstanding, although it likely would have the effect of increasing costs for most industries because morons would potentially go ahead with thinking that they can win and some lawyers are just so bad that they might figure "Hey, I don't have any clients anyway, so why not give this a whirl?"
