IIRC it is an Airsoft drop-in that just happens to work with real steel. Not sure about the cops handing them out like greeting cards bit. It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.Comment

That one got me. I love it! On a serious note, I’ve never met anyone opposed to the Common Core who even knew a standard, much less could identify a standard he disagreed with. On an interesting note, I got to chat with one of the principal authors of the math standards. Really neat guy to have a conversation with.Comment

I'm sensing a pattern.

.................
Your analogy doesn't hold water.
If the majority of LE officers in any department demanded change, and then went on strike(or quite) because they didn't get change, then for sure that department would take notice. They'd HAVE to take notice, esp. since the public would be screaming to get their cops back ASAP.
I assure you, the "politicians making laws" do not give a sh** about ANY gun owners in CA, and most would happily clap if we moved out of state. And most of their constituents would as well. In fact, if these California pols could get us to move out, they'd be extolling that fact during their next campaign.NRA Lifetime Member. Hunter & Target Shooter.

The idea that rank and file LEO have any agency whatsoever or any control whatsoever over their union is laughable. They're peons with no say in anything of any relevance.Comment

LEO's lack of control over their Unions is self inflicted. THEY JUST DON'T CARE!
As long as the 'quid pro quo" tax dollars keep flowing into their salaries, pensions, and bennies in ever increasing percentages.
They as a whole, rarely even go to their own Union meetings. ALADS has over 7,000 sworn members. Their meetings typically have fewer than 50 members in attendance.
Most claim to vote conservative. But sit on their collective butts at home rather than go to meetings and have their voice heard. Then claim they have no control over how their Union spends their dues for campaign donations, and public endorsements.
As for all the 2A infringements they are party to passing. They bought and paid for the exemptions they get from their political masters. Then conveniently blame the Union they claim they don't control.

Remember, Police Unions exist to promote LABOR - in other words - get jobs for cops and get pay and benefits for cops. The union is not there to promote OTHER political agendas, whether they are agreed upon or not, by the LEO's.
Again, the unions job, it's sole job, is to protect the labor "rights" of cops, get cops more money, and make more cops jobs available to be filled.
That's why you see a disconnect between what the union does in regards to doing NOTHING about this anti-2A laws, and what the every-day beat cop actually believes in (which most are by and far 2A supporters).
Anyway, back on topic, any cop that is buying off roster guns with any regularity and selling them for even more then $1 over what they paid is just asking for trouble.Comment

Cop suicides and cop arrests usually make the news. I don't see anything morally or legally wrong with someone, cops included, selling an occasional off roster gun.
But anyone knowingly violating six (?) transactions in a year is dealing without a license.Comment
