In the battle for winning hearts and minds, how do we counter stuff like this?

We know about Gavin Newsom's Safety for All campaign in social media and how it worked for the anti's...now this from George Takei. 75,000 members in 2 days.

    Description
Founded by acclaimed actor and LGBTQ rights activist George Takei in response to the mass shooting at The Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida on June 12, 2016, One Pulse For America is an online community dedicated to closing the "Passion Gap" with pro-gun activists by encouraging gun violence prevention advocates to take action on a daily basis.

We use social media to bring strategic pressure on legislators and other decision-makers by amplifying support for gun violence prevention efforts at the national, state and local level. Our goal is to change social norms surrounding guns in the United States and obtain life-saving reforms that will end America's epidemic of gun violence.

    GROUP GUIDELINES

This is NOT a forum for debate. We're about ACTION. This is a group for True Believers and Doers; the folks who don't need convincing that we need tougher gun laws; the folks who have been dying to turn up the volume and just needed to find the right muse.

When you join One Pulse for America, you are signing up to take action on a regular basis to curb gun violence in the United States.

One Pulse for America members NEVER wring their hands or say, "We can't do this." We put the work in and get it done.

    TROLLS

If you see a pro-gun troll in this group, please report that person to Ladd Everitt or one of the other group admins by tagging us in the comments. We will remove them as quickly as possible!

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

Let me remind you, it's not their gender identity, it's their agenda. Libtard progressive anti-2A.
Now if George Takei would adopt the approach of the Pink Pistols, that would be awesome for us.

His family and him were interned in a Japanese detention camp in the U.S. during WWII...one would think he'd have a different opinion of the 2nd Amendment.

Just ban Mr. Sulu! Warp 9 right into the toilet. Not all LGBT feel the same as that turd. Just like any other group of folks, a few bad apples in the bunch.

          This, utterly.

And the best way to counter this is to not make it solely about guns, but anti-self-defense. I've read things on this forum about ridiculous scrutiny applied to self-defense cases that end in the assailant's death, and about laws like one that considers ANY physical contact - like swiping a partner's hand off a door knob to leave a room - grounds for permanently removing one's right to own firearms in California. Fight back with this, and most normal folk will start to understand that not everything the Left says is correct.

My friend's sister (now deceased) was married to a man born at Manzanar.
His parents, even when interned, were still proud to live in America and of America.
They named him Owen after the Owen's Valley where Manzanar is located.

I have no idea of Owen's or his family's position on gun ownership, I've just always thought Owen's story was cool and wanted to share it with you BN.

There was a azzhat that killed a lot of people at a nightclub with gasoline. They will find a way.

Takei is quite the hypocrite. In an interview regarding his families internment he makes this statement....

Talking about Earl Warren..."He took an oath on the Constitution. He knew the Constitution. But knowing the Constitution and knowing what he was going to do was going to be against the Constitution, his ambition took over."

...remind anyone of our liberal leaders and legislators in Sacramento?

Thanks...that is special. Reflects the spirit of the immigrants to this country back in the day that came here to become Americans and share in the American dream...sometimes in the face of discrimination and prejudice.

To counter something like this, gun owners need to come out of hiding and turn up the volume themselves.

Would be great if we had some pro-2a celebrities step up (like Charlton Heston), and be vocal. Would help if we had someone recognizable and well liked. But nowadays Hollywood and MSM is dominated by anti-2A libtard agenda. All those action stars who made their millions are a bunch of aholes just making sure they don't get blackballed for work in the future.

Eventually the Anti's are going to step to the plate.
Then we can see what they are made of. Until then, its talk from an old actor who doesn't know anything.
For me, its getting out of California and back to America first and foremost.
Then hopefully with Trump, and whomever he puts in the SC we have a chance on fighting this stuff.
Cali is lost though, it will never turn back, you will never regain the rights that have been taken from you at this point sadly.
