Let me get this straight .....ongoing active shooter, multiple fatalities , you want the police chief to pull his guys out. Call the major, who will call the governor, who will call the National Guard HQ and give the order to active, HQ then starts their phone calls down the chain of command. At the very end of that phone tree are 18-25 year olds working day jobs from fast-food to construction. Those Soldiers then leave their day job, respond to the armory, gas up gear up and other mobilization logistics, and then START responding.
Sadly this is true. It would require a OPORDER or a at least a WARNO from their respective commands to show up the armory and report. Accountability checks then issuing of gear. There minimum response time is like 12-24 hours if everything goes according to plan. For a massive incident that will work, civil unrest, disaster. but a active shooter requires a quick reaction force like SWAT. Theres only a small handful of units within the Guard that can respond at a moments notice, one being the CST of Civil Support Team.

Every patrol officer should be at least trained in basic squad or fireteam movements with a AR15.

      2. Armed law abiding citizens provide security for themselves, those around them, and their neighbors.

      3. If things get beyond where armed citizens can handle it, have a quick reaction force within the National Guard.

This will cover immediate personal security, criminal investigations, riots/active shooters, and traffic. Keep in mind, the armed citizen should be available if called upon to assist at any time.
What do you think cops are? They're armed law abiding citizens who provide security for themselves, those around them, and their neighbors.

Your response to fear of the militarization of police is to, call the Military. Haha. You're funny man.

Why would I want to be in an environment like that, this is not Baghdad.
And this leads me to something I don't understand. Why do people become apprehensive and want to run away when a police presence is made? To me the police are no different than anyone else in the area because I have nothing to fear, nothing to hide; I'm a law-abiding citizen and I'm not bothered by their presence. I think the reluctance people feel when dealing with police comes from hidden guilt or something similar. They could be armed with BFG's from Doom and I wouldn't mind. Hell, shouldn't we feel safer?

This incident shall cause change. No one feels comfy seeing military looking police geared up for challenges. However, situations as Dallas showed. There is possibility for extreme needs at any moment.

            I agree.

Not to say that there aren't some racial problems. But the situations that have been getting these racial groups panties all in a wod haven't been racial.

I have yet to see a single high profile killing of a black male by police that wasn't a result of the individual fighting or doing something really stupid during an LEO encounter.

It all boils down to perversion of the constitution.

The first amendment was never meant to enable lawless mobs. It is deliberately twisted to achieve the result we are seeing. Anti discrimination laws are being misused for the same purpose, to keep us at each others throats and actually demand a militarized police force. Madness.

How'd that work out for Philando Castile?
in 2001, the Legislature asked for a racial profiling study and it fell to Kearney, then at the Institute on Race & Poverty at the University of Minnesota Law School, to conduct it. His study, using information supplied voluntarily by 65 law enforcement jurisdictions in the state, found a strong likelihood that racial and ethnic bias played a role in traffic stop policies and practices. Overall, officers stopped minority drivers at greater rates than whites and searched them at greater rates, but found contraband in those searches at lower rates than whites.

Please state the few incidents in the past 7 years that back up what you state. With the exception of the officer shooting the guy in a S.C. park, where the officer shot the guy multiple times as he was running away, I can't think of any where the DOJ/DA's office investigated and arrested officers who were found guilty. See Ferguson, Baltimore etc.. for examples of false charges against officers without any evidence of wrong doing, or racism. See also the exoneration of the white/hispanic neighborhood watchman who was crucified, then later acquitted. The two recent incidents, which led to the ambushing of cops in the past few days, appear to be justifiable, if one actually seeks out "hard evidence", rather than simply relying on cell phone videos from biased recorders. Use the totality of the evidence available. You're falling for the lies spewed by the agitators and media. Most of what BLM is based upon, are LIES, and have been proven as such.

The truth has been damaged / twisted / ignored to create division among us for the "national transformers" to exploit. BLM, and like-minded groups, are merely useful idiots. The masses of ill-informed numbskulls with nothing better to do, have no idea they are being used. Cops aren't the problem here, it's the media and the community / racial agitators who are the problem.

Ah I found one that says the sheriff of RAMSEY county didn't have a CCW for Castile on file. But this article indicates he obtained it from another county. MN permits are valid statewide
