We have to band together to survive. We have to win friends and, by doing so, influence people. I'm not talking compromise- I'm talking being a decent person and judging people by the content of their character, not the color of their uniform.

Engage and inform. They'll realize you're good people and hopefully, you'll realize the same. The firmly entrenched won't budge, but those who are willing to use their noggins will. Be calm, take a breath, and talk with, not at.

I have no interest in compromising my rights, but I do realize we have to play some politics.
You Sir are also a NonRealist. We as citizens never alienated the LE contingent of the citizens in this state. Educate yourself before you expound reaching out another brotherly hand to be bitten off. TRUST and RESPECT are EARNED, not bestowed blindly.

They alienated US by small incremental steps over many years. They now look to their political masters for marching orders.

It is we, the taxpaying, law abiding citizens of this state that collectively pay their exorbitant salary and benny packages. Yes, I said exorbitant, in many cases as much as 200% over base pay.

But they negotiate with the legislature as custodians of OUR TAX dollars.

Who then screw us over with legislation blessed by the LE Unions. Because as custodians of OUR TAX DOLLARS it is they that have the say as to how much LE gets of the TAX PIE. Which is always the lions share.

They have incrementally become more and more, the puppet protectors of the State. And less and less the protectors of the citizens that pay them.

      THIS.

Get 100% of your family to vote against these pieces of filth.
Get MOST of your friends to vote against them.
Get some of your acquaintances to flip their vote.

You've just thrown a career gravy train passenger off the express for life. Do it to enough of them and you might not even have to get them all off the dole. They'll get the idea.

Oh, and don't just show up next election. Make this a life's work. Just as Japan realized the mistake it made awakening the sleeping giant, we need to impress upon the self-centered elites in Sacramento how they just did the same.

I agree with this..if you listened to the assembly and state webcasts (or watch the recordings) you'll see that there was someone their representing law enforcement unions (I believe), that said to many of the anti gun bills:

        [paraphrased]
We do not support this bill, but if you put in an exemption for active and retired law enforcement we will be 100% behind it.

I recall in the videos I saw during this session both the ammunition and mag bills there was someone lobbying for LEO exemption. I really don't want to give myself a heart attack looking for it though :| Suffice to say, LEO exemptions exist because they have someone lobby for it and will back anti-gun bills once they are exempt.

                Ain't gonna happen.

Most of us have to go to work on Tuesday, change the oil in the Honda, and swing by Stater Bros. for a gallon of milk, maybe see if they got any more peanut brittle. The kids need new cleats, so there will be no time for any kind of "march."

Unless we get all the Black and Transexual Calgunners to march up front, it won't get any press anyway.

The State has permitted registration, so we can keep what we got. The State will gain more data from those who do register. If you don't comply, the first chance the State gets, it will be taking your rifle and you to the poky.

Many of us are choosing to leave the state - I'm out as soon as I can afford to. Kalifornia will be happy we are gone. There's 100 illegal aliens from Latin America pining to take our place. Oh, and there's 10 millionaires from China ready to bid cash on our homes.

The only recourse to bad legislation is court challenge.

I have a form I made up headed inspired contribution, and every time something like this or the Congressional sit in happens, I send an extra pop to the NRA.

Read the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People".
