I beg to differ. I've been a life long paid call fire fighter that has worked side by side with many different LEO agencies in two separate counties. There are waaaaaay more on the citizens side as far as gun rights go. Not to say that I haven't ran across a few, and I MEAN FEW, LEO's that are not in favor.

I whole heartedly believe that we need to seek support from all LEO agencies at this point.

Maybe out in redneckville where I live but in the cities good luck. Cops will cite people for magazines in the big cities and the ones who choose not to enforce these draconian laws will eventually retire and be replaced by ones who will.

The problem is that we are mostly Conservative and as such respect law/order, traditions etc. Therefore we don't protest in public even if we are getting royally ****ed. We will write letters and try to work within the system instead.

my GF finally caved today and said she would be willing to move. Only thing is wed both be unemployed for some time wherever we went. I left September of last year I had enough moved to St. George Utah as gun friendly as you can get, even more so than Nevada. People here are a bit leery of Californians/liberals but welcoming once they find out your not a gun grabbing hippie.

We were looking at St, George until we read about the "Downwinders". But I guess risking some radiation is better then living out my days in CA.

A good point. And if folks think it will be a polite knock on the door when push comes to shove the hold out gun owner/felon will face an overwhelming force outside their house. The govt. will make sure resistance is futile and deadly.

While I doubt door to door confiscation of once grandfathered standard capacity magazines will occur LEO's and D.A.'s will make examples of those who are encountered during vehicle stops or other instances which allow for LEO contact/ arrest, search and seizure.

Rank and file LEO's who actually work the streets have only tax-paying gun owners still in their corner. You think the're in any way inclined to come seek you out and confiscate your guns when they're embattled on all other fronts with actual violent crime, actual violent and savage people, and actual idiots in higher office? You are mistaken. They have only you guys left to protect from the progdolites. They are on your side.

Regardless of whether or not this is true, and I believe it to be mostly true, we cannot and should not alienate LEOs.

Everyone complains about police unions and their power- well, how exactly are we supposed to counteract FUD and them feeling distrusted without giving the good ones our trust? How can we help to harness 10, 20, 30% of that power?

We have to band together to survive. We have to win friends and, by doing so, influence people. I'm not talking compromise- I'm talking being a decent person and judging people by the content of their character, not the color of their uniform.

Engage and inform. They'll realize you're good people and hopefully, you'll realize the same. The firmly entrenched won't budge, but those who are willing to use their noggins will. Be calm, take a breath, and talk with, not at.

I have no interest in compromising my rights, but I do realize we have to play some politics.

I was a bit concerned about this also but everything I was able to find pointed to radiation levels here being the same as any other normal place. But the downwinders story is crazy for sure can't believe they let that happen. Praying for you guys out there still and good luck. The grass is greener here though literally.

Sadly I have to agree with this sentiment. After the disgusting display of the largest LE Unions standing in direct conflict with their sworn oaths and PIMPING for our loss of rights in the legislature.

Their oaths now mean CRAP. They have become oath breakers and bowed to the will of their political masters. Who they have developed a symbiotic economical relationship with since Moonbean made the option available to them in his first term.

Those LE that are willing to exercise the perogatives of "Ca PC Sect 4" become fewer and fewer.

For those in LE that claim "Don't blame Me" I don't even go to Union meetings.

Yeah, that's why as "citizens" we blame YOU. "US v THEM" is alive and well in Commyfornia. Because LE is now publicly and politically promoting it all the way to the state capitol.
