So Now What? What happens if it all passes?

With Gunpocolypse on the Governors desk, what happens if the bullet button/"assault weapon ban" passes? Since they ban the mag locks, do we install standard mag releases and resister them as RAW or what? Will we have to weld the mags in? What about the mags then, do we have to surrender our property without compensation? I could have sworn there was a part of the constitution that forbid the government from unlawful seizure of property? Or was that protected by the 2nd Amendment?
It really seems like they were so eager to offer up all of this bull$h!t, without much thought about how (other than out right confiscation) to realistically implement it without turning Peaceful Law Abiding citizens into felons or risking massive bloodshed.
I honestly can't see it working out as planned. Thoughts or insight appreciated

You will have to register a BB AR as an assault weapon by 2017, or convert it to featureless.

Mags you will have a period of time to either destroy, permanently block, or sell out of state.

Even if no one registers and keeps their BB rifles intact they likely wont be going door to door confiscating. They will be happy to take them at traffic stops, drug busts, domestic violence calls, or any other interaction they have unless provoked. Outright confiscation would cost money, so they will give us the option to hold on to them until we die, or they will take them in the manner listed above.

On the ammo side everyone will panic for a while, but the end result will be more ammo on the shelves because the measure deals more with cutting demand of ammo than the supply. Of course you'll have to pay a new tax every couple of years.

We'll also likely see some cool innovations like the Ares SCR and other featureless options in lightweight semi-auto 5.56 rifles.

The problem for me and my fellow gunners in S.F. is there are no shelves and no ammo already. I have to order most of it online to my nearest friendly FFL which is a 30min drive. Other than that I'm limited to big 5 or being gouged at the other local gun shops. Man this sucks!

Make no mistake - these politicians don't see you as a peaceful law abiding citizen. They think we're degenerate criminals-in-wait, itching to turn into a murderer or terrorist. They're just adjusting the legal definitions now to fit that view of you (us).

Before we get into a tizzy over what may or may not happen, let's see which one of these actually get signed into law. By most accounts, we won't have to wait too long - until 11:00am tomorrow, to be exact. Then, on those laws that are enacted, we prioritize and plan a legal counterattack. We also start considering how we will comply without doing permanent damage to guns we currently own, and use the collective expertise and intelligence of the firearms community to develop new products and open up new markets for alternative designs.

It sure feels like the end of the gun world as we know it, but life will go on. We're getting ever closer to UK, EU, and AU style gun laws, but we're not there yet.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

Today, I wonder why one is asking questions instead of calling (closed at 10 pm), emailing https://govnews.ca.gov/gov39mail/mail.php and faxing the Governor (916) 558-3160.

Tomorrow, after the bills are signed or not, is the time to figure out how to comply - and remember, some bits will need implementing regulations, so details will still be lacking.

                  What will happen......

Mass exodus.......a thriving black market.....civil unrest........nothing, there are lots of options that might happen.

                  Legislate millions into criminals.......

To be honest, after living in many states, this state is a **** hole except for a few select areas, best to sell now before property value plummets in the drug infested state funded areas full of people on the dole that is on the horizon....the states bankrupt and more people leave each year and more businesses.

Lifes too short to spend my time to " Save california"....they made their **** sandwich, they can eat it.

I am just saddened each time I pay taxes in this state that I am funding the lunacy.

There are plenty of states that are happy to have businesses and gun owners or good workers.....there are still states that do not stick their nose in your personal business.

I called over 30 times today and couldn't get through, but did email and copied a bunch of friends on the bills and urged them to do the same.

I can tell you what will happen next but many won't like it.

                      We keep fighting.

The NRA and CRPA have already stated that they will oppose these bills in the Legislature first and the courts if necessary.

I'm predicting massive non-compliance, either willfully or through ignorance

And we take other steps through the electorate.
I have an idea I'm working on along those lines, I need to figure out logistics and details and it will not be comfortable for any of us but if the idea is valid it could be worth it.

Either way the three choices we face, whether Brown signs everything, veto's everything or some combination of the two remain the same.
                      We can give up.
                      We can run away.
                      Or we can keep fighting.

Giving up isn't an option and running away is contrary to my nature.
I have only one option, keep fighting.
