What's the main reason for gun control?

What's the main reason for the continued drive for additional gun control in CA?

    The poll is expired.

Some are forever stuck at the maturity level most commonly found in bad middle school students.
Likely because they were ostracized or picked-on themselves in response to their own behavior.
Wouldn't it be great if the real world also had an Ignore List?

To disarm the masses and ultimately have full control over the public with no possibility of a revolt.

You will also notice that with each bill or new law proposed the language that
"this will create a new crime" By creating new crime they are also able to set aside budgets to assist in control and enforcement, or in other words a increased spending budget as long as they claim that it is to assist in the control of the new crimes created by the laws. If you notice most of the new law proposals all indicate that this would create a new "crime" therefore additional funding is needed to support the "crime enforcement"

          Political opportunism

Pandering on an emotional level, exploiting a tragedy to advance one's career. Trying to out-do one another on who "cares" the most - Newsom vs DeLeon.

Added bonus of making us more dependent on Government to protect us. More dependent = continued Democratic dominance of California.

You can be trusted to protect yourself, the police must protect you. Not enough police, we'll have to raise your taxes.

The poll should allow multiple selections. I don't think there is any single overriding factor, but a set of several intertwined factors instead.

Let me ask this. If a magical switch was flipped and the way to attracting more voters and attaining political office in CA was by being ardently pro-gun, would most CA politicos do a 180 and change their positions or would they hold true (as some believe) to their desire of disarming the populous so they could ultimately do as they please without fearing violent repercussions?

Absolutely not. The poll is trying to determine the MAIN reason for the continued push.

I voted to corrall and control,

But slightly different than any option on the poll is...

It's popular with voters. Not being pushed by the voters, but it's a pretty popular position that gets them votes; but still comes from the legislators more than voters. Voters don't look for it when voting, but they DO like the sound of it.

If you take away God, guts and guns, you end up with Sheeple who will obey their masters. Worship the state, it is the ultimate goal. Why is pajama boy, man bun wearing millennials lifestyle appealing to anyone?

Look at North Korea/China if you would like to see the end goal

c'mon dude, really?!? You cant control an armed society very easily, can you?

firearms are the only link between citizens and subjects...

I believe the majority of Californians truly believe in their hearts that gun control legislation will make them safer. "If only we can get rid of the guns!" They are of course misguided. Their hearts are in the right place, but they have been deluded. The politicians on the other hand, just hand out what the people demand of them. If the majority of Californians wanted gun freedom, then the politicians will follow suit. Sadly that is not the case.
