    In AZ for christmas... wow!

I visited some gun stores in AZ and it made me depressed with our situation in CA. It is really amazing what is available here. The Scottsdale Gun Club has not only a really nice non-sleazy indoor range, but you can buy just about anything! Full Auto a few doors down has, well what you would expect. Scottsdale Gun Club, by the way, has several 308 lowers available. No surprise, only one complete POF 223. Maybe I need to move... !

It's a nice place to visit and play! But HERE is where you will find the front lines of the fight for the future of American freedom! And here is where it will be decided! Stay in the fight!!!

False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that has no remedy for evils except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.

No thank you, I regret coming to this state. I am not going to lie to you, I did make some good friends here on Cal Guns but your gun laws are pathetic and I only have about 7 more months left here and can't wait to GTFO of here and only come to visit from time to time to eat good Mexican Food.

Did you get a chance to check out their private club?

My brother and I were there last year, and one of the employees was kind enough to give us a tour of the private range area. This all started because - geek that I am - I was curious about a piece of electronic hardware adjacent to the private entrance. This, it turns out, is a retina scanner. A computerized voice welcomed the employee by name when he stepped up to it.

Once inside there is a vault with a wide assortment of toys for the members to use. Just past this area is a nice area where members can hang out, watch TV, play pool, help themselves to free drinks, etc. Think wood paneling, nicely upholstered couches, etc. This setting would fit in at a upscale golf club.

There are a set of windows in the far wall that look out onto the private indoor ranges. A set of air lock style doors keep the loud noises from disrupting the atmosphere in the club. There was only one member on the range when we were there. If I recall correctly he was free to do double taps, etc.

I was told at the time what it cost to join, but my memory is a little hazy. I think it was something like $8,000? And the annual fees were equally exorbitant.

I've been spending my holiday time in Texas with similar appetite for freedom. Feels nice to feel my sidearm on my hip instead of the grip of the ugly liberal overmind.

That Scottsdale Gun Club is basically heaven on earth. Luckily next weekend I will be flying into El Paso, driving through NM to pick up my recently deceased potential-biological-grandfather's car and drive it back home. And Scottsdale Gun Club just so happens to be on my way . The people that work there are really cool. I rented the UMP in .45 ACP and 2 mags to go with it. The guy decided to throw in another mag and while we were reloading after I popped off my first 2 mags, he said "Go ahead and finish the box" So I got a total of 4 mags to shoot in full-auto! Maybe it was because I just bought like 6 P-mags and a bunch of other crap... Hopefully they still have their stockpile of yellow box 7.62x39 by the time I get there.

When I was in Ft Knox, we made sure to swing by Whittaker's Gunshop.

Kindof depressing, really. Photos of buddy.

They have to pay for the retinal eye scan thingy and special air lock doors you know.

I am also in AZ for Christmas (Tucson). I just got back from a day-after-christmas shopping expedition where I CCW'd for the first time in my life.

Now that I've put my Utah permit to good use, what I want for Christmas next year is my California CCW.

What ever you do, dont speed. Photo enforced radar everywhere, but mostly near Phoenix. Its really sick and depressing. For that part only, I was glad to be a Californian.
